re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
Ok, well I am trying to rebuild the Astros into a NL central contender. I am in early June, and the season is already lost. So how about this. Keep in mind that the both Buehrle and Floyd are on the DL, and the Sox are in 1st place, with a real chance of winning the central.
White Sox get:
SP Wandy Rodriguez (30)
SS Miguel Tejada (34) (I know the have Alexi, but Tejada could play second)
Astros get:
C Cole Armstrong (25) (B potential minor league player)
SS Gordon Beckham (22) (A potential minor league player)
Edit: I found another one I could go for.
White Sox get:
SP Wandy Rodriguez (30)
3B Aaron Boone (35)
Astros get:
3B Dayan Viciedo (20) (B potential minor league player)
I need some young talent for 3B, and Blum can hold the spot until Viciedo fully matures.
Also, anyone know of some good prospects I might be able to pick up?Last edited by Whitesox; 06-10-2009, 11:27 PM.Comment

re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
After some more research, I have discovered that the White Sox hands are tied. They need to make a deal fast if they want to have a shot at the central. Look at these injuries.
LF Carlos Quentin (Their second best player) is out 1-2 months with a broken ankle.
SP Mark Buehrle (Their best starter) Is out 1-2 months with a shoulder tear
SP Gavin Floyd (Their third best starter) Is out 1-2 months with Shoulder Cartilage Damage.
I really need to capitalize on this. Any ideas?Comment

Wandy Rodriguez and Carlos Lee for Viciedo and Poreda. Throw in a prospect of your own though. After some more research, I have discovered that the White Sox hands are tied. They need to make a deal fast if they want to have a shot at the central. Look at these injuries.

re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
Ok, I like that, but seeing as to how I am trying to retain as many prospects as possible, that might be tough.
But now, I have become quite infatuated with a rookie named Rick Porcello. He is the Tigers number 3 starter, and he is only 20 years old. A potential of course. The Tigers seem more than willing to deal him, and the best part is, the Tigers fail at every position I excel at!
At the closer spot, The have Brandon Lyon, who is not that good, and I have Jose Valverde. For catcher they have Gerald Laird, I have Ivan Rodriguez (Exactly the kind of player I am looking to offload). Everything is even until shortstop, where Tejada is miles ahead of Everett. Lee is also mile better than their LF, but I don't think thats fair because they have two good RF. So many possibilities...
Also, the tigers are only .5 GB of the White Sox.Comment

Porcello is very good, but I don't know if the Tigers would deal him. But I'm sure you could make an even enough trade to where it's fair. Seeing as how its a game, you can't do everything that a team would do in real life.Comment

I just pulled the trigger on that deal, except I swapped Wandy out for Brian Moehler
Will report back and tell you all how Porcello is doing.Last edited by Whitesox; 06-11-2009, 12:30 AM.Comment

BUST!!!!! He failed miserably at the MLB level, and the AAA level. At AA he was ok...but nothing special. After 4 years, he his player progression was a total -2! I attribute him with my running the Astros into the ground
. One guy to pick up though... J. Smoak. This guy is a beast, and increased +17 four years in a row. I got him in my first rule 5 draft.
About the trades above...I am not too familiar with the Royals, but I know enough that I don't think the first one is fair. I cannot form an opinion myself on the others though.Last edited by Whitesox; 06-11-2009, 07:28 PM.Comment

re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
Can you get this trade without giving up either Heilman or Miles? In other words, can you throw in a minor leaguer in place of Heilman or Miles and still get the Padres to go for the trade?
I'm not a fan of trading good LH starting pitchers, but adding Peavy to the Cubs rotation would be absolutely brutal...so I say go for it either way, but try lowering what you're giving up in the deal or try to convince them to give you a prospect.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

If you're looking for an everyday 3B that is a consistent hitter, has a little pop in the bat, and is a good defensive 3B, then I suggest Pablo Sandoval from the Giants. He's 22/23 years old and has great potential.Im the Dodgers and just cant get on with O-Dogg, he has no pop at all and is batting below the mendoza line for a month solid.
I want either a solid 2b/3b back with some power, if i get a 3b i can move Blake to 2nd, i was trying to tempt Detroit for Inge but no go.
Ideas guys?
I acquired him in my franchise and he's on a 14 game hit streak right now. He won't knock the ball out of the park that often(maybe 15 homers) but he's an outstanding hitter.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Best trade I made was getting rid of Aaron Miles I got a double no prospect player from the Dodgers. Finding someone to take him was what made this a great trade."Half the lies they tell about me aren't true."
