      NEGATIVE.
...and I don't think that's what the issue is.
I also don't think that what you are alluding to is taking up that much room.

If they have say..100 historic players w. stances and windups

I would prefer they absolutely nail another 100 CURRENT players stances and windups instead.

But.....that's just my opinion, I am all about my franchise and have no use for the historic players.

          Why?
Are they researching and redoing those historic players every year?
I'm confused....they are done and in...what does it have to do with doing more stances and motions for current players?

I know they are done and in.....and I'm not concerned with the research and re-doing of the historic players. I get it that they are already done and don't require any labor.

The historic players take up space on the disc - the game can only inclide so much "stuff"

What I am saying is that I would rather they allocate the space that the historics take up and dedicate that space to fitting more current players stances and windups.

Say they can have 700 stances and windups in the game and currently:
            - 660 are current players
            - 40 are legends

I would prefer the developers eliminate the legends and have 700 stances and windups all of current players

I can really see no reason for the legends players without classic stadiums. If I could assign a legends team to a league and eliminate another team and play as them, in a classic stadium, that I would like, but as it is now I don't believe they really get much use.

Take the legend team, name them, like you could in ASB and put them, let's say in the NL West in place of the Padres, let them be assigned to Connie Mack Stadium, for example, that would be a hoot.

Lighting-Day game lighting looks great and would even better if the shadows crept in through out the end of the game.
Night games, however, look a bit weak.

More options as far as bat color, glove color, etc.

And the last I ask for...Getting the colors right on new Yankee Stadium...I know they couldnt get access to it last year during construction but no i think they can replicate it perfectly.
I agree, they need to fix Yankee Stadium, as well as CitiField.

I like a lot of everybody suggestions, but one thing that NEEDS to be fixed is uniforms. Some are just horribly inaccurate. And I'm not just talking about throwbacks (some of the throwbacks are HORRIBLE, there have been enough uniforms throughout the history of baseball that the same one doesnt need to be used twice, especially when it was never really used in the first place, like the Giants home throwbacks for example. There's no reason there shouldn't be an old NY Giants throwback as well as like an orange McCovey-era SanFran throwback, instead they have generic Giants jerseys with huge orange block letters), but primary jerseys as well. The Nats jerseys have NAMES ON THE BACK, but in the game they don't and the color arrangement uisn't correct on their road uniforms. Other teams have jerseys that have uniform numbers on the front, but don't actually wear such jerseys in real life (Seattle jerseys for example, the only Mariners jersey that has numbers on the front is the navy blue alternate....and could we please stop giving the mariners Seattle pilots throwbacks, give them to the Brewers). So far jerseys and stadiums are my biggest complaint, two of the most basic aspects to any game.

Other than that I just wish they would make minor tweaks in other areas, most of which have already been covered by some of you guys.

how about a trade rumors or headlines section, like NBA2k does.

                    something like this is cool/

                      Hitting charts

I think it would be awsome if everyone's hitting chart started at 0% (beginning of franchise). As hits begin to accumilate throughout franchise, the charts will begin updating througout the year and beyond. Also, have separate charts against righties, lefties, and RISP. As it is, the charts never change.

IMO, this is very important. For example, lets say that your stadium has a short LF porch and a righthander comes up to bat. Based on the updated hit charts, you see that he pulls the ball 60% of the time against right handers (the batter has some pop). Then you realize that against LHP, he does it only 25% of the time. Bam! You decide to gamble and bring in the lefty because of his tendency to go the other way and, therefore, perhaps keep him from going yard.

Of course, having a chart that displays the percentage of hits given up by pitchers will be useful as well.

Are there even 700 stances to put in the game? I cant see the classic stuff as little as there is posing an issue. I mean if we are dropping stuf are the mascot cut ins really necessary? Yes I agree classsic stadiums ae needed and in season/franchise mode.

That said, I believe Kolbe mentioned once (or more) that it was a trade-off....the reason for less stat-tracking (mainly historical) was that the memory was allocated to other aspects they felt were more pressing.

I don't know a lick about programming, so I'm not sure what the exact trade-off would be, but I also remember reading once that one of the main reasons a sports game takes up so much more memory than an RPG (Which you would think would take more, based on the details in those games), for example, is statistics. If you recall the memory card era, a dynasty/franchise save took the most space on your card.

I guess at some point we are going to eventually have to accept that there are going to be resource limitations on on stuff like this. The bright side is that the PS3 is a very capable system and these guys seem to do a good job of maximizing those resources and finding new ways to push the PS3 the more time they work on it.

Kolbe told me at one point it was because of a SCEA standard of save file size as a reason for a lack of more historical stats. My question is could it be done using a more compressed format? The one thing I like better about Madden and nba 2k is the stats and tracking award winners year to year. Those companies do it so I am sure there must be a way or loop hole.

You bring up some good points. As for your question, I have no earthly idea personally...lol...but if that's the case, then perhaps they can figure a way to work with it...I dunno. I'm not sure it's as simple as "company A does it, so SCEA should be able to" though, but I see your point. There is a lot the The Show does that these other games can't touch...maybe the difference is where these companies are placing priority?

As I said, these guys have mentioned before how they're finding new ways to unlock the power of the PS3, so hopefully they continue to do so. Stats is one area in need of BIG additions IMO.

Post season rotations. We should never see a fifth starter starting a post season game. Also there are way too many starts by fifth starters in season.

If they could change the rotation logic somehow to always start The higher ranked starter when Stamina is full that could help this problem out for both season and playoff rotations.
