If you want help with manual base running start your own thread !!

I'm trying to get help and suggestions with my current problem and don't appreciate my OT being derailed

Does anyone have a suggestion on what I should lower each individual players base running aggressiveness too and does anyone know if lowering this will effect steal attempts ??

Hijackng happens in every thread, it's not done on purpose. The flow of discussion just changes to another topic. Stomping your feet and yelling at people isn't going to solve your problems, as you can see no one has replied to your post. If people knew the answer to your problem I'm sure they would tell you. This is a very helpful forum.

First of all I know how to use manual base running......I choose not to because I happen to like the auto steal attempts that you get when you use AUTO

Secondly another poster did suggest lowering individual player attributes and I have been trying to reply to that to see what he suggests but I keep getting my posts buried with replies about manual base running tutorials for some other poster that HIJACKED my topic

It's my bad I should of just used PM's to get my answer because apparently I'm the only one that either encounters this problem or the only one that enjoys AUTO stealing

Anyone having problems with over aggressive cpu runners trying to take third from first on a single.

I've only played a handful of games but I noticed this pretty quickly.

The thing is I think it's tied to the throwing meter. My last game I thought "Maybe I should load me throw a bit harder to the cutoff man or third baseman." I did that and sure enough the runner promptly stopped at 2nd. Didn't even round it for that matter.

I think the runner knows if you're gonna "Manny" the ball back into the infield and it takes advantage of it. I only had the opportunity to do it the one time late last night and it seemed to work. Just an FYI if you guys see the same thing and want to try this out.

yes...the cpu is too agressive in most cases going from 1st to 3rd on singles to right field. Haven't noticed it being too big of a problem when hit to other fields(did have Reyes try to go 1st to 3rd on a basehit to center, but Rasmus gunned him down by a step and a half) Never saw it appempted when hit to left thankfully.

But on a base hit to RF, the cpu will 90% of the time, attempt to go from first to third no matter who is running.

It seemed so much less at community day also...which is bothering me...because I specifically was looking for this to bring it up.
I'm wondering if bumping up the fielder speed and reaction slider might help......if they get to it quicker...the runner is less inclined to go. I also believe the OF'er play too deep and is causing them to not get to some shots quick enough....and when I play with my OF to SHALLOW(which is like normal IMO)....the opposing teams seem to do it less.

ahhhhh yea, even if this really did work (like I said only one time for me but it was the only time I tried it) but still it wouldn't help MOM players. hmmm. The slider info you put might help. IDK. And if it does maybe I can tweak the my sliders too.

Although if I find the meter thing continues to help I'll stay away from the sliders. Default plays pretty good for me.

I'm getting so frustrated with almost every base runner always attempting to go 1st to 3rd on a single !!!!!!!

98% of the time there easily thrown out

I actually had a base runner on 1st "ATTEMPT" to go to 3rd on a run & hit hard single to LEFT FIELD......LEFT FIELD

I was in complete shock from the stupidity of that base runner

The amount of assists that I have in my season is unrealistic

Is there ANY slider or individual player attribute edit that will stop base runners from always attempting to go 1st to 3rd and running you out of innings using AUTO base running ??

I don't want to stop using auto base running because I like the random steal attempts that are made but I'm getting really aggravated

in Manager Mode (CPU or AI controls ALL baserunners for balls in play)...if a runner is on 1B and batter gets a hit to CF...100% of the time runner on 1B goes for 3B.

On my current pace, my CF will reach 150+ assists....the opposing team CFs avg 2-3 assists per game against me.

The ball HAS to be hit to CF via line drive.

as I said, the only runner I've seen thus far attempt to go from 1st to 3rd was Jose Reyes and he was out by a step and a half...take that for what you will.

guys like Jim Thome or even my pitcher Micah Owings in my lineup as my LF was thrown out at 3B.

I was reading this thread thinking that I had seen the same complaint from last year...then I came across my own post and realized that it was the same post from last year...

I've not played very much yet, but in the few games that I have played, I have noticed this as a problem. I use AUTO baserunning and I'm getting 2 or 3 guys thrown out going 1st to 3rd in each game...most of the time it's not even close and sometimes in really stupid situations.

I have also had a couple guys thrown out tagging from 2nd to 3rd in situations where they shouldn't even be thinking about it.

I haven't started a franchise yet, so I haven't looked into the adjustments required...is there still that Baserunning Agressiveness attribute that we can lower?

Another good solution (in future) would be for SCEA to still allow input from the user when on AUTO baserunning...they do for leading off and steals. I'm not nearly adept enough to use MANUAL, but I could probably manage to push a button to stop some fool from trying to stretch it.
