    Signature Animations Thread

Signature animations in this game are one of my favorite things to see, i.e. Manny putting his hands up after a sure home run, or how Pujols doesn't take a standard step when the pitch is coming in, but instead just turns his foot and keeps it on the ground.

These little things are something I hope continue to be expanded on, but I wanted to make a thread where we could post signature animations we've seen that might be small that other people might have overlooked. This way others that appreciate these types of things since it is hard for one person to see everyone.

I'll start off listing some of the animations I liked that I've seen.

-Prince Fielder has a toe tap rather than a single step when the pitch is coming in.

-Derek Jeter sticking holding his hand out towards the ump after a pitch as he gets set up.

-Victor Martinez, also has a toe tap.

-A Rod's pre swing routing where he first gives a half swing then rotates the bat in a circle while touching the tip of his helmet with his right hand.

I can think of others but I'll let other people chyme in if they like these kind of things. I hope they add more pre swing rituals for '10 because some of the generic ones look very awkward through the transitions.

I might not of made it clear, but I was posting things that are in the game that I appreciate, and others can do the same.

These things are one of my favorite parts of the game and also something that SCEA really has to work on.

I love have so many batting stances to choose from but what's the point sometimes if their home-run swings and signature styles don't portray their real-life counterparts.

It's one thing that MLB 2K really has over The Show.

        NBA: New York Knicks
NFL: Houston Texans, St. Louis Rams

I love that Ryan Braun and Dustin Pedroia always tighten their gloves between pitches. For Braun, it was one of the few things I liked about his stance last year and hence why I never changed it. His routine isn't perfect, but the batting glove thing is a must.

Other than that, I don't notice toe-taps or anything like that... I just see the batting stance breakdown not including the swing-through.

          That includes:
1.) Step-in (some players will often have close-ups)
          2.) Standing in the box
3.) Reaction to pitches that they swing and miss
4.) Reaction to pitches that they foul away (usually generic)
5.) Reaction to pitches that they take (not including a third strike or fourth ball)

I do like on the Robin Yount stance how he stands over the line on the batter's box. And while I said that I don't recognize swing-throughs, I think his is unique.

EDIT: This is Knight's Robin Yount CAP, not the one that SCEA had in-game. The stance is the same, though. Sorry about the number; it should be #19.
