Re: Good 4 pitch combo for a Closer

I started a RTTS as a closer and went with a 4 seam, circle change, 12-6 curve ball and cutter but I think if I could change it, I would make the curve a slider instead. The 4 seamer is great when you start out. Add some velocity and you're up to AAA in no time. I just can't seem to get to the bigs.

I was closing for Tampa Bay's AAA team and Percival and Wheeler both got injured. I thought sure I'd get the call up but instead I got traded to the Nats as part of a trio of prospects that got the Rays a couple of MLB relief arms. Now I'm 6 years in and I am consistantly putting up great numbers (ERA under 2, K/IP, WHIP under 1) but they won't call me up and they won't even let me close at Triple A. Does anyone know what I have ot do to make the bigs. I mean its the Nats, their big league club is really on AAAA anyhow!
