Yea i just got done playing a 162 game season w/ the braves (played every minute of every single game, no simming) and i didn't make the playoffs, but throughout the year i would sim and reload and repeat until i got the standings somewhat similar to what they were in real life and now i've got my playoff bracket exactly like real life...so now i can play some of these playoff games at random which might be fun and i might play w/ one team in the world series...so yes you can play w/ any team you want throughout the season in franchise or season mode even if it's not the team you normally play with

Re: Possible to Setup Playoffs?
My mistake, double checked and you can play any teams games via the schedule screen.Last edited by edm18; 10-12-2009, 06:19 AM.Comment

Re: Possible to Setup Playoffs?
I was messing around with simming tonight and finally have the playoff bracket matching real life.
Minn at NYY
BOS at ANA
STL at LA
COL at PHI
The human team is Philly, but since you can play with any team via the schedule screen, I'll upload the save file, in case anyone wants to use it.
edit:
uploaded the game save here Download Link
Used the default scea rosters that were posted online, yesterday (I think they were updated to Oct 5th). Sliders are all at default. level on all star, injuries off.
To play with another team, other than the Phils, go into the schedule screen and scroll to that teams page and select the desired game. there will be an option to play out that game.
File is zipped up, so unzip it before copying to your usb device.

Re: Possible to Setup Playoffs?
I was playing around for an hour and set up the 2009 Postseason. The playoff bracket is based on Ridin's Last Roster Update. It contains NYY/MIN, PHI/COL, STL/LA, BOS/LAA.
The human team, you guessed it is the Yankees but you can play with any team via the schedule screen. Enjoy.Attached FilesComment

Re: Possible to Setup Playoffs?
I played Playoff Mode with 2K6 & 2K8. Kinda fun, but didn't feel like I was playing a playoff game.

Re: Possible to Setup Playoffs?
2k6 and 2k8 have tournament mode, not playoff mode. 2k9 has playoff mode.
In tournament mode you can't have a 5-7-7 series format like in 2k9's playoff mode. You can only pick one series length for each round in tournament mode, with the options being...
1 game series for each round
3 game series for each round
5 game series for each round
7 game series for each round
You can choose to only have 2 two teams in the tournament if you want or as many as 16 teams.Comment

Re: Possible to Setup Playoffs?
Wow, this is awesome! I didn't even know you could share Franchise files like this, but this is absolutely sick! I've been running exhibitions for my playoff simulation, but I'm going to scrap that and use this. It's so much more official, and you can track the stats for all players (instead of the notes I took). Awesome job!NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: Possible to Setup Playoffs?
Alright, I need help in setting this up.
I downloaded the file. Extracted the files. Put the "PS3" folder onto my USB drive. Put it in my PS3, copied it to Saved Data Utility. But it's not showing up under my saved Franchise files in the game.
What do I do? Do I put the whole folder (instead of just the "PS3" folder) onto my USB drive?
[EDIT] I'm a scrub. It's a Season save file, not Franchise. Carry on.
The one problem is wrong rosters. I can deal with a few guys who aren't on the actual postseason rosters, but I like to have my pitching matchups right. A workaround is to plug in another controller, control both teams so you can choose the opposition's starting pitcher, then when you get to the game, just change the one controller to CPU. For those with only one controller, I think you can reassign your controller to be Player 2, select the other team, set that lineup, change back to Player 1, select all that good stuff, and so on.
