The trade logic, and the whole Team Focus or whatever it's called, where some teams are rebuilding, some are just in normal mode.

It would be great if they could form the trade/FA logic to mirror real life where small-market teams like Florida and Minnesota rely heavily on their farm system and do not sign big free agents. The 2nd year of my franchise Minnesota had signed Matt Holiday and Cliff Lee or some other big free agent pitcher. I'm all for teams getting better and making more money but not that fast.

The CPU offering me trades and trading between other CPU teams. It's the trade deadline and no big moves, or hardly any moves at all. What's up with that?

Also, never really see any trading in the offseason either. It's a franchise mode and there's hardly any trading? I thought making alotta transactions and making your team better was what franchise mode is all about.

I agree, Braves Fan. It's a bit of a turn-off to not be able to re-tool a team through trades in the offseason, or at least to see a rival try to get better in that fashion.

I would also chime in on getting the injury issue solved. The randomness of the injury times, and the trials trying to move people onto the 60-day DL and signing someone else need work.
Yes, I've been here since 2003. No, I don't post much. I'm too busy playing the games.

I found a good quote from Braves GM Frank Wren commenting on the few stars in free agency this year. Too bad in the Show that it's really the only way to improve clubs. The quote also mentions that there's a lotta trade talks going around, again which this was true for the show. I hope they have an option up the trading levels for next year, or better yet have better servers so that we can have an online franchise against humans. Anyways here's the quote:

"I think it's too early to say, because the market hasn't started yet," Braves general manager Frank Wren said. "There are a limited number of impact players in all categories. It will be interesting to see how it goes. I do know there are a lot of trade conversations going on."

I know it's supposed to be one, but these 3 things equally bug me:

-Randomness of retirements (not to mention how, if you want who retires due to age to change, you have to do this all the way in the middle of the season, before the draft)

-DH getting as tired/more tired than every day position players (why did they change this from '08?)

-Postseason rotations (not much to elaborate on here).

also one thing that gets me annoyed is how the CPU lets good free agents rot in free agency DURING the regular season.

In MVP 05 teams would sign free agents during the reg. season just like in real life, now the contracts were ridiculous but it was realistic. Rather than leaving a player like let's say Ben Sheets (Injured in RL) but would be a good addition, is left to rot in FA.

I also really disliked this about franchise. MVP did a good job for the most part on this. The Braves signed Sheets in my current franchise while they were 3 GB from the Mets. Very realistic and def. felt like he was signed to push them over the top.

The framerate could be better in a lot of parks. Some parks are a little choppy..

It's so hard to choose just one thing! I love this game so much, but after Mariano Rivera and Jorge Posada retired after 2009, the 2010 season was unplayable for me. There is a 0% chance these players retire.

That being said, if a player has CPU Roster Control ON, then we should really have control of the rosters! This means if a player retires, we should be able to undo that. I also HATE how the CPU messes it's lineups around. I spent hours getting all the lineups correct in 09 before starting my franchise, only to see the Orioles batting Nick Markakis 8th on opening day! Silly. CPU Roster Control should mean that we control the CPU's rosters! This worked in 08, but was broken in 09. I can't stand the stupid lineups the CPU trots out there. And I only have one controller. I'm not going to spend the ridiculous amount of money they charge for a controller just to get good lineups.

I'd have to say the trade logic. There needs to me more teams selling at the deadline to teams making playoff runs. I see too many 1 for 1 trades where someone like Minnesota trades Liriano straight up for Roy Oswalt or Cliff Lee when all 3 teams are in the playoff hunt. I feel i have to limit myself on what kind of trades to make to keep things fair between me and the computer.

Overall though I love the franchise mode. Considering how far behind most games are when it comes to this mode I can over look a few of its flaws. LOVE THIS GAME!!!
I WOULD TRADE EVERY GAME I OWN JUST TO HAVE A PERFECT MADDEN.....

Have to agree on the free agent logic, needs to be completed redone......completely

retirements, they call it quits too early

Also they trade logic......***mors dont matchup at all, have them match up like they do in nba 2k10 or something like that.....

I'll leave it up to the rest of the group to nail the more important things. I just wanted to comment on a minor, minor issue. I would like to see the way you set the quantity of promotional giveaways fixed. Currently, it takes maybe 30 seconds to set the quantity to the max of 40,000. Should take a second to set to the max.

Again, not a big deal but just thought I'd add it.

My one thing would have to be offseason logic. Like others have said make it life like. In RL arbitration eligible and contract renewal players are traded all the time. In the Show you have to first offer them a contract and sim until he accepts it, then you can trade him. Like wise if you want to make a trade for an arbitration/renewal player you have to sim until they are signed then you can make a trade. Arbitration eligible and contract renewal players are traded all the time before they actually sign a contract because they are under team control. In my franchise I had to sim away almost two months just to make the 2 trades I wanted to.

To go with that I agree on the free agents. Teams need to keep their young prospects that are free agents rather than going out and signing "big name" guys even though they already have several starters at those positions.

Number two actually 2 and 3, would be hiring and firing coaches during season and signing all players to contract extensions.

Said it before, Ill say it again. During a franchise season series against the CPU. The CPU constantly goes to the same relief pitchers during a series regardless of fatigue. I could understand that in an exhibition game (going to the sane guys in relatively the same order) but during franchise when stamina plays into it this should not be happening.
