    Re: 3D and The Show...2011?

For the time being I would really be content with the old anaglyphic glasses (red-blue). The other day I tested skate 2 in 3d and imagined how good would it be to play the Show with sense of depth, even at the cost of losing color details.

wow...so, russell...you're saying that the show 10 will be able to be played in 3d? i bought a mitsubishi 60c9 which is 3D compatible and would love if that was an option.

am i right in that with video games, when it's done in 3d, if you don't have the glasses, it wont look out of focus, or would it anyway.

not that i'm not pumped about 10, but when i think of the show 11 possibilities (new player models, 3d, ps3 motion controller...) i get very excited.

I haven't seen a 3D movie in theaters since Spy Kids 3 (I was little at the time :P)

so I don't know how 3D looks today but it can do major damage on your eye sight.
Well, before seeing Avatar in IMAX 3d I was a little skeptical. The last 3d movie I saw was in the 80's. I believe it was Jaws 3. After seeing Avatar, I really really like 3d. I can't imagine how awesome it would be to play the SHow in 3d. I just wonder how much the new 3d TV's will cost. I believe Sony and Samsung are planning on releasing the first batch of 3D TV's this year. I wonder what the price tag will be

I'm sure Sony and all the 3D developers and their lawyers found out this fact and figured the liability was completely worth it.

Despite what the Luddites say, it is a beautiful and exciting technology. But, don't worry, it will be a while before media supports only 3D. You won't have to buy a new TV to play games...just if you want to play them in 3D. Just like SD vs. HD.

They are also working on a tech that will allow for 3D without the glasses. Obviously that's going to be a few more years down the line.

I'm happy to see that The Show was one of the demos being shown around....that means the devs must have a nice headstart on implementing the technology so that its done right.

you will still need glasses to play games in 3D.

What's also interesting is that by targeting 30fps performance in 3D mode, those games should be running at around 60fps in standard 2D mode. So it's awesome either way.

Are they gonna sell 3-D glasses with prescription too?

it's gonna suck wearing 3-D plastic glasses on top of regular glasses...(life sucks...)

i don't know about that. However, people with glasses won't be left out forever. There's autostereoscopic displays being developed, but they cost like $25k right now. They'll allow you to see 3D without glasses.

Well, since the new 3D technology is based on crossed-polarization, it wouldn't be all that difficult for companies like Oakley, Essilor and other lens manufacturers to make. It basically works like polarized lenses now that are for sunglasses.

I found an awesome video of The Show 3D on youtube:

If a 3D tv is not hard to afford, i will take it into consideration just for PS3 games.

about time we found video...good job..

we need someone to try to play the game in the batter's view that is closes to the plate and give back impressions......its basically impossible to notice 3D from video clips..

I forget, but is there a first person's view in this game... I know if you do the bunt preview, but I don't think there is,....so I hope the dev team can add that type of view for batting.

There is not a first person view in the Show for actually hitting. Just the one for viewing the field.

Nice find. They've obviously just added it right into the game without going over the top (Final Destination 4 anyone?). Very subtle, but cool. I could even go with just a bit more 3D pop, especially with an isometric, higher up cam with the ball in 3D.

would be cool if they added different cams during gameplay.....like if anyone remembers in the old Ken Griffy Jr. Nintendo 64 game....when you get under a fly ball, the camera view switches to right behind the fielders head looking up towards the sky waiting for the ball to come down.

would be nice if they added that...
or for the fun of it, after getting into position to field the pop up, lock the camera to the ball instead facing down towards the field.
