What I will do:

I will hold it in my hands...
Try to watch the road on the way home.
open it and put it in my PS3.

Take a look at the classic parks and all the retro jerseys ( hope the 1956 Redlegs "cut sleeves" uniforms were added).
After I play an exhibition game I will check the first and last name database, then check the face tool and last but not leased check to see if SCEA offered any new legends.( Sandy Koufax, Stan Musial, Mickey Mantle?)...

After all that I will transfer all my created players from 08' & 09'
to 10' that should take some time, I figure by May I should start my "Classic Season... ( glad to hear SCEA is contemplating offering a way to transfer rosters from one year to the next which I hope includes created faces)...

oooo i hope they put some new legends in there. it all comes down to player agreements right? like they need permission?

i say just throw in whatever legends you want. what are they gonna do? sue SCEA for being honored as an all-time great?

oh, but to answer the question, the first thing I do will be to check the accuracy of the rosters. after that, I will do a homerun derby with Pujols (to see if his stance is fixed). After i go yard a few times, I will edit rosters to my liking, then embark on an epic fantasy draft franchise with the Giants or Orioles (sweet uniforms, sweet ballparks).

Obviously, the first thing I will do is open the game itself. lol. I will probably check the Free Agent list to see which players are in it that have already been signed to new teams before the game came out. There are usually a few guys they miss here and there. Then, I'll probably play an exhibition game as the Phillies against whoever.

I will open the game with a great big smile like this one: . Then I will put it into the PS3. I will watch the TV to see if any cool loading screens come up. Wait for the start menu to tell me to press start. Then I will scroll threw the menus to see what's there. I will then look for the practice modes, try them all out and make sure I have the fundamentals. Then I will play a Yankees VS Red Sox game in the Bronx of course. Once I'm feeling confident in my game I will proceed to online mode and make a name for myself.

I'm going to obviously open the game, then put in the PS3 and let it install, then probably start going through the rosters and updating them to make them as current as possible. I'll probably also start working on minor leagues for the Yankees system and play a bunch of exhibition games and HR Derby's while continuing to update rosters and lineups and whatnot until the actual real life season starts. Then I'll fire up a RttS and start having more fun than I can imagine.

One of the best things I can say about The Show is that I am confident about buying it on day 1. With all other sports games, Madden, NBA 2K/Live, NHL/NHL 2k I have to scour the message boards for weeks and weeks, read about pros and cons, decide which game to buy (or whether to buy at all) and usually end up at least somewhat disappointed anyway. With the Show, I don't have to do that. I can buy it on the first day and know that I will not be disappointed.

Oh yeah, one other thing I'll do is see if my last name made it in there. I remember last year when SCEA was asking for names to be possibly added and I had listed mine with the pronunciation as well. While I am almost 100% certain that it did not make it in, it would be incredibly awesome if it did and my name got announced when I come to bat, enter a game, during commentary, etc.
