Re: MLB '10: The Show - Broken Bats Gameplay

I know I may be nitpicking here, but does anyone else think that the batters need to "slow down" in the box a little. If you watch a real game the batter won't be ready in his stance until the pitcher starts his delivery. In The Show, the batter starts getting ready as soon as the ball hits the catcher's glove.

Basically, I am saying that the batter needs to act a little more nonchalant in the box and take a deep breath or something and step out after each pitch. I'm watching Angels vs Red Sox on MLB Network and that is what I am seeing.

You still have to maintain a healthy balance of realism and fun. And while some would like a game to last 2.5-4 hours, it is not practical in an every-time sense.

      Just my take.

Wow, those check swings were fantastic. I know it's a small detail but huge upgrade over the previous games.

I would kill for a clip with the White Sox. I'm itching to see Gordon Beckham and Jake Peavy.

I dunno...I think the signature stuff plays a role in this. Like in real life, some are more nonchalant than others. I never saw this as an issue personally...I've played with people who find the routines too nonchalant...go figure.

            =0 that broken bat....

It's gonna take some getting used to seeing the Twins at home with the blue sky...

Now I know it's an early build but a few nitpicks...the tarp still seems to be missing, and the banners on the outfield wall didn't seem to make it in(tho they were added late in the season) But who cares...This game along with Uncharted 2 SHOWCASE THE BEST VISUALS ON THE PS3 by far! And its not even finished yet!
His expression coming out of the box was even more realistic. He had what I would call his signature gum grinding expression after the strikeout.

At about to 25 second mark, it's cool to see the 1st base umpire get lower to the ground as if to get a better look a the play at 1st. Don't remember seeing that in previous versions of The Show. Very nice touch.

I would just like to see the batter not get into his stance so soon. I notice the pitcher takes his time, but the batter is already in his stance well before the pitcher is ready. I just want to see the batter standing in the box but not with the bat in a position to hit.

Like Ryan Howard holding his bat out until the pitcher comes set..Then he goes into his stance.

                      That what you mean?

Yes. That. If you look at the CES vids, ie. the Yanks vs Red Sox vid, Texieria is in his stance with the bat up as soon as the catcher throws the ball back to the pitcher. I'm sure he holds the bat somewhere else until the pitcher is just about to pitch.

Yea that would be awesome...I mean, im pretty sure they could have it user controlled as they already allow you warm up swing before the pitch is selected.

What amazes me about The Show, is how the programmers read my mind?
I am MORE than happy with "09", but during my franchise remembering saying... "I wish the ball would rattle in the corners once in a while? "Too bad the splash counter didn't actually work?"

if there was something I liked about the 2K series, it was the camera view. This broadcast camera looks awsome! I'm looking to see the ball in flight and splitting OF's...

Anybody pick up on how the first baseman receives the ball back from the pitcher after the put out at first base? With his bare hand. Looks pretty neat and ANOTHER added animation.
