Pirates if you want a big challenge, O's or Royals if you want a few players you can build around. The O's have some good young position players, but pitching will be hard, especially being in the AL East.

Pittsburgh because of their past and that they are one of the oldest franchises in baseball.

I don't know how bad the Brewers roster will be, but their light blue throwbacks with the old logo are awesome (so are the pinstriped jerseys). And Miller Park is fantastic.

I second... third... fourth? the idea of the Pirates or Orioles. Orioles have the best uniforms in the league in my opinion, but you need to make huge moves to make the playoffs with them. I've used the Pirates in my MLB 09 Fantasy Draft Franchise, and I've had a lot of fun with them.

                      Re: Bad roster/cool uni's/cool stadium?

I had franchises as both the Pirates and Orioles last year for this very reason. Also tinkered with the Royals.

One team I'd like to play with that fits two-thirds of the criteria (bad team/cool uniforms) is the A's. But I can't stand playing in the Coliseum. Anyone know if we can choose to use the new classic stadiums as our home park in franchise mode? It'd be awesome to return the A's to Shibe Park.

                        need examples?

Baltimore, Pittsburgh, San Diego, Kansas City, Cincinnati, Washington (i'm on the fence with their uni's), and The Mets .
The collapses and then last year's total disaster has made this franchise something of a "joke" among fans and MLB...but if they're healthy...this is a solid team.

                        Do need another pitcher, though.
