I would LOVE the idea, as well as expansion mode. It seems like it would be too difficult though.

The last expansion was 1998, that feature didn't show up in ASB until ASB2004 I believe.

The Expos relocated to D.C. in 2005.

I think he was responding to the argument that the feature (Expansion Mode) was put into ASB because the league was expanding around the time it was added...which is incorrect. There was talk of relocation (and eventually that Expos move) though, you're right.

Side note: Also around that time (a few years earlier) there was talk of the Twins relocating. I was disappointed they didn't because North Carolina and Virginia (Two places I was moving between at the time) were trying to land them.

Almost thought for a minute you said you could see hanley striding around in the redwoods. LOL

anyways, back on topic. I think putting in a create-a-stadium/expansion mode would be more of a time issue as oppose to whether its possible or not. But it sure would make for some fun.

I would love an expansion mode. Not really interested in replacing any of the current MLB teams but would love to add one. A decent team creation tool (i.e.NCAA teambuilder) and stadium creator and I would be good to go.
New York Giants (8 NFL Championships-4 Superbowls )
New York Yankees (26 World Series Titles)
New York Knicks (2 NBA Championships)
            Michigan Wolverines (11 National Championships)
New York Rangers (4 Stanley Cups)

This is basically what I was referring to. This was a time of change in MLB. Relocation was being discussed and expansion was fresh. ASB added this feature in 2002 http://www.metacritic.com/games/plat...arbaseball2003

The first time expansion was in a video baseball game was World series baseball where you had to do an expansion draft. http://www.gamespot.com/saturn/sport...l2/review.html

Like many of you I am a franchise player and would love this feature, yet I see expansion or relocation in real life as a motivating factor for games to include this.

I don't like create a stadium option in Madden because you're way too limited in how you make your created stadium look. They always look pathetic to normal stadiums. I think an option in this game would face a similiar fate.

One option I would like is to be able to use classic stadiums in franchise mode. I would love to move a team to Brooklyn and play at Ebbets Field and then redesign the team's look. I think that idea would be more feasible.

I would love this. It would be very cool to start a brand new team, make a stadium and start from scratch. I love my white sox, but at some point I would like to start up a new team.
