Re: Is anyone getting it for the psp this year?

I typically get both versions on Day One. However, I have historically been VERY frustrated with the PSP version. For whatever reason, I can't pitch worth anything when playing on the PSP. I give up an endless number of hits and have never figured out what I am doing wrong.

    Just me?

Day 1 purchase for me, I've had the PSP version 3 or 4 yrs and it is amazing even being on a handheld. Best PSP game by far that I've ever played.
PC - Front Office Football 8, OOTP21, DMB and FM 20, Pure Sim, PFS
PS4 - MLB The Show, The Golf Club and Super Mega Baseball
      Phone - Football Chairman
      PSVita - MLB The Show

      Georgia Bulldogs
      Atlanta Falcons

This game was actually one of the reasons I got a PSP (saw a demo running it in Best Buy). But as someone who prefers to manage only games and likes the franshise stuff, it's left me disappointed.

Also found the lack of umpires annoying. And still missing, apparently. I mean, c'mon, every other company have figured out how to program the PSP better in the last 5 years, surely Sony can add umpires without something breaking. (I'm sure they could, they just don't care, it's just a roster date year after year).

How are you so sure ?

Did you ever think that if they add umpires, the framerate might decrease 5 - 10 frames a second ? The PSP has a compact 333 mhz processor. It ain't gonna be able to do everything you guys want from MLB The Show.

Especially keep all those nice animations and look so smooth. In fact I think the game does almost too much. It is a hand-held, and I don't expect big console or PC experience out of a portable device which usually is designed for jump in and play games real quick and jump out.

Gran Turismo handled it beautifully on how a game or racing should be done on a portable device.
