Again...it looks amazing. I'm sure it's something that we'll get used to, but the only issue (and I"m not complaining in the least) is that the transition between the ball being hit/broadcast view is awfully quick.

I know Russell gave a reason why that's so...but for the guys who played at the CD...is it something that takes awhile to get used to or is it just really noticeable because we're seeing it for the first time?

It takes a couple games to feel comfortable but after that it is second nature. The biggest thing you will need to get adjusted with is getting your bearings where the ball is hit on the field and the angle you need to take. The more visible player icon should help some people out.

Yep, picked this one up Nem - combined with the speed of the baserunner it's going to sort out the guns from the pop guns...awwww, is it only Feb 6th for goodness sake!

You will also notice is that most of the time last year on that play it was the sliding animation where the fielder would get up firing. That animation appears to be toned down a lot more.

Looks absolutely phenomenal. Is it wrong that I cant complete my season now in 09?

Amazing how this game can excite you year in and year out. Definitely my favorite franchise on the PS3.

Excellent job Devs and CD/FT guys, excellent indeed.

I went and traded my copy in a couple days ago... just couldn't play it anymore after seen all the 10 info, lol.

WOW! Thats is just amazing how realistic that looks. After watching the clip a few times I can see how it will become second nature identifing where the ball is off the bat, kinda like swinging at balls and looking at strikes became second nature for me last year.

Just a minor criticism here...

After the batter hit what looked like a homerun, the bat disappeared out of his hands.

Watch it again. Bat does not disappear out of his hands at all.

my only complaint is how quick the camera switches once it connects with the bat. maybe i'll get used to it?

my only complaint as well. It was like that in mlb the show 07 too.
Unfortunately this will force me to use the camera angle behind the batter when pitching and hitting so I can see where the ball is going before it transitions into the fielding camera.

Or, it's like having a bat super-glued to your hand at one angle, and having to rotate your wrist all the way down and around to have the bat touch the ground, because you couldn't animate the bat, or the fingers, because your animation would be way too large for the PS2 buffer, so you had to wait for the increased memory on the PS3 to solve both of those problems, but you haven't had the time to go back and fix all of the older animations yet because you were adding more game play and presentation animations into the game then you ever had in any previous year as well as redoing many of the older personal animations and adding new ones...and writing incredibly long run-on sentences here on OS at 10:52pm on a Friday night in your office. Or something like that.

While everyone is drooling all over this visually, lol! Did everyone notice in the first vid the throw from the shortstop was weak because his body motion was taking him away from the play? We did see some of this last year but this year it is going to play a heavier role as strength is more closely tied to the player's arm ratings. No back to your regularly scheduled drooling!

That was the first think I noticed. In 08/09 that was a "routine" out sadly. I was delighted to see it more realistic.

I like that tweak choice. That animation is seen a bit too much in MLB 09.

That's sweet! I loved how they incorporated that into Citi Field.

The Pepsi Porch is easily the most popular seating area for us who cannot afford $1500 seats.

This game looks sick. I traded in '09 today in order to pre-order '10. The Gamespot where I did my preorder said that due to all the preorders they have been getting for this game, they will be doing a midnight release for it. I might need to fight to get that Tuesday off of work.

Yeah I noticed that later. Apparently when you watch these clips without your contacts in and with a glass of Jameson in your system, your eyes tend to play tricks on you.
