IMO the swing stick is way overrated!

Re: What has the Show brought to the table feature wise ?
It's not that they've brought features. Outside of RTTS they haven't, really. It's that every year the on-field game is refined and tweaked and is consistently the best in-game experience of any sports game.
That's the appeal for me, I think.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

I think MVP felt the most realistic to me in the way the ball came off the bat depending on pitch type and location. In the show, no matter what the sliders are at, I don't feel like mistakes are punnished enough by good hitters. How many times has "wheelhouse perfect" on a flat changeup ended up being a double play or something stupid.
I think it just comes down to the fact sports games hardly have any competition (1 football choice, now 1 nhl, 1.5 baseball) so they don't need to be too innovative with features but at least everything is getting more and more polished.Comment

I actually like how some "wheelhouse perfect" swings end up being duds. That is baseball. Sometimes you hit it on the sweet spot and it just doesn't connect right.Comment

I have faith that these guys have made significant upgrades to this game that will make it play and feel more realistic than previous versions. That being said, 2011 they need to prioritize new player models. In looking back, these models are the same exact ones we've have seen since PS2, it is really time to step it up in this departmentComment

to me the " innovative" feature I never seen in a sports game is the A.I. . Specifically the pitching. I just marvel when I whiff on a 2-0 changeup because I'm sitting on a heater. Overall the AI is the best ever IMO.Comment

Excellent point. They definitely innovated the pitcher vs. batter AI game.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment
