Re: MLB 10: The Show - The Little Things Thread

All season, I've probably only seen two or three missed catched in the outfield.

I was playing today (Dodgers @ Diamondbacks) and there were two in one game.

I dismissed it as a coincidence, until I realised that both errors occurred in exactly the same spot and since it was a day game, BOTH center fielders lost the ball in the sun.

Not not so sure it was coincidental, but very impressed with the correlation.

The first game of a season in RTTS, my team was no-hit through 6 and I led of the 7th by hitting a fastball down the middle for a single. I was at home, so it was cool to see the home crowd give the opposing pitcher an ovation.
It is also cool to occasionally hear Matt V. quote Ernie Harwell when the Tigers turn a double play.
      MLB: Detroit Tigers
      NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins
      NCAA FB: Penn State
      NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers

Just finished a 14 inning game. After Matt V and company did their recap in the background you could her Matt say "let's hurry up and get out of here before they cut the power."

Being at home against the Yankees and hearing your crowd heckling A-Rod when he's at bat...

Just a disclaimer, I usually get every other year of sports video games (The Show, NBA 2K series, etc.) so that I can (hopefully) see some noticeable changes, so if these were actually in The Show '09, my apologies.

            1. The real life Brewers always play in their 1982 throwback uniforms (with the most perfect logo ever, might I add) on Friday night home games and if you play at Miller Park on a Friday in Franchise or Season mode, the uniform that pops up as the default for them on the team selection screen is the throwbacks.

            2. The ivy in Wrigley is dynamic. If you play there in April it will be sparse and brown, but if you play in say, July it's full and green.

I lost a flyball in the Ivy the other day in my Rockies franchise. I tried to make a leaping catch with CarGo, missed, and couldn't find the ball. I think it was Soriano that hit the ball; he wound up with a triple by the time I found the baseball.

You know when you have nobody on base, and you record an out? And the computer will throw the ball over for around the horn? Or Thrown it back in to the infield?

I HATE THAT! I wish YOU could control throwing it over to short, or to the cutoff man. It's a small thing, but there is too many times it feels like you are watching a game opposed to controlling it. That bugs the hell out of me!

Another thing is the foul balls. THey make you watch the ball roll from the battters box, to in most cases, the outfield wall. It ends up being 6-7 seconds of just watching the ball bounce around the field. It's another small thing that is incredibly frustrating, especially when it happens 3-4 times an inning.

I sure someone has caught this by now, but just in case...

I was in the middle of beating down the Mets at Citi when I paused the game to go check the mail. When I walked back into the living room I could here the PA announcer giving a special shout out to "M.K. Knight"!!!

                  Awesome!

Anybody catch the things they say on infield popups.

I was at home and hit a pop up to short. Someone in the crowd yelled "trip over a sprinkler!" LOL

When I hit Ike Davis's first MLB bomb, the Mets gave him the silent treatment in the dugout and then mobbed him. The announcers even commented on it. great stuff!
