When Jeff Samardzija faces Adam Dunn (traded for him in my Giants franchise), they (Soup, I think) makes mention along the line of "this is the former college wide receiver, pitching to the former college QB..." - I thought that was pretty neat, as I didn't even know Dunn played football.

Re: MLB 10: The Show - The Little Things Thread
On a line drive to the left field wall (and bouncing around in the corner), I at first attempt to send my runner home all the way from first. As he's rounding 3rd, Matt exclaims that he's running through the stop sign. I was already pulling back before that commentary line played though - I thought better of it since it looked like I'd be out for sure.
So, having never heard that line before in the game I went into the replay and watched the play. Sure enough, the 3rd base coach had his hands up and I ran right through it (at first).Comment

Re: MLB 10: The Show - The Little Things Thread
During the all star game in my third year played at Kansas City, Bryan Pena, the sole Royals representative, got a huge ovation when he came up to bat in the 8th despite being down a bunch of runs. Nice touch.
Just saw a new one after 400+ games. Opposing SS attempts to make a diving stop on a ground and slides right into the umpire. The ball gets through for a single. I didn't even know that was possible. Then two games later, another SS tried to run down a blooper just past the bag at second and runs into the umpire halting his progress. The ball drops in. The single ends up being the game winning run. Luck is on my side lately haha.Comment

Re: MLB 10: The Show - The Little Things Thread
Cards, I've yet to see this one.
The fielder runs into the umpire? Is their an animation? Like, both player AND umpire react as if they were run into, or does it just hault the fielder's ability to keep running towards the ball?Comment

On the diving one, the player slides head first into the umps legs. There is no separate animation for it, just the slide and then coming to a stop. On the running one, the fielder runs into the ump and keeps running like he is on a tread mill. Something you might expect to see in a video gameComment
