I have without problems, im sure others have too. But appreciate that this is an issue.

Nothing to do with franchise, but can understand your frustration.

Always worrying about a game freezing up sometimes late into a franchise season.

Cant comment as ive not played late into a Franchise season yet

Can't perform some actions in RTTS without worrying about if the game will freeze or not?

Again not Franchise, and also cant comment as dont play RTTS

And some can argue that the aspects created by some of the bugs & glitches detract from this game so much so it is no longer a baseball game....just some odd sports game.
I appreciate your post and im as annoyed as anyone when a 'bug' interferes with a game I enjoy, but Franchise mode is playable and does not need certain things to be avoided.

Sergio's post explains the logic thing more than I could, things dont always go to plan, thats how Franchise is atm.

stars DO get traded. i mean pujols getting dealt twice in a franchise is kind of out of worldly...but mike piazza got traded twice in a matter of days...when he was arguably the top slugging catcher in the game.
alex rodriguez was traded in his career.
        johan santana was traded.
        roy halladay was traded.
cliff lee was traded twice in the span of 6 months.
derek jeter and chipper jones type players, who play for one franchise at an elite level their whole careers come along very rarely, which brings me to my point.
if albert pujols gets traded in your franchise, it's not the end of the world. there have been stupid trades in the history of baseball, not EVERY trade is market-acceptable. if you want every GM in your franchise to be incredible businessmen, more power to you. but if albert pujols gets traded for 3 A-potentialed players, it's actually more plausible than you think. granted we all know it's NOT going to happen in real life this year, but strange things happen in general. i actually kind of hope pujols gets traded when i boot up my franchise, make things nice and fresh.
so while i agree i'd love a patch that bails me out if i forget to check my trade proposals a couple days, there is NO reason to get on SCEA's case for trade logic.
I agree with you. Like many of us here, I would love for the Show to be a real as possible. I love to have up to date real life rosters in my franchise but, in all honesty, it boils down to it still being a video game the mimics real like in a "virtual" vaccumm. Yeah, some of the trades made during a franchise can be outrageous if you apply them to the real world, but since the trades are virtual, they sometimes aren't so bad if you look at them from the "virtual" perspective. I hope this makes sense to some.

With that said, rather then drive myself crazy and buy myself a one way ticket to "shutter island", I choose to start my franchise with the most up to date rosters when I decide to start. What happens during my franchise is fine with me. I don't have the time to control all 30 teams and don't have the time to keep up with all the transactions during the season and mirror them in my franchise.

        Just my .02 cents.

Im sort of confused about the franchise bug. Let's say I choose the Yankees and have "ckarlic" as the profile but choose to control all the other teams with no profile set. Would the CPU try to trade players from my team, the Yankees?

Re: MLB '10: The Show - Franchise Issues Update

Stars do get traded, no doubt. However, when stars get traded, it's either due to:

            1. Money - team can't afford to resign a player and field a competitive team.
            2. Rebuilding - reason #1 is usually involved as well, but a struggling team decides to turn one star into 2-4 potential stars.

This is not happening in the game right now. Stars are being dealt seemingly willy-nilly by rich teams and competitive teams. I'm still seeing Jon Lester dealt mid-season by the Red Sox. This is likely due to the combination of loads of high-potential guys in the minors and faulty trade-logic and team-management engines. Combine the wonky trades with an AI that does not promote or demote players and you have a pretty unplayable franchise mode. You can try to justify the computer's decisions all you want but there's almost no doubt that franchise is not working as the developers wished it would.

You guys would probably hate it if, when actually playing the game, you could turn triple plays at will or if every pitcher threw 120 mph, right? That's the in-game equivalent of how franchise mode is playing right now.

I do appreciate that you guys are defending the game and the developers, because there is a lot to defend. I love how the game plays when it's playing right, and franchise mode in '09 was a total blast. However, please do understand that our frustrations are based in reality. I WANT the game to work, I really really do. It's just not happening right now.

In MLB09, NO TRADES would ever be made without you, the user, making a trade for any team. What fun is that? lol...

So if you have to set everyteam to Human control (diff profiles or not) just to avoid having your own players traded off your team -- how is that playable -- in a fun sense?

If you set it to manual for all the other teams you still see trades, you just have to accept them yourself.

again....the avg buyer will not know this and it will freeze. And even knowing this...prohibits you from enjoying the game as it was meant to be played.

If all 30 are human, how come there are still trades being offered?

Playing without budgets on, does it help stop the CPU from making ridiculous trades to dump salary?

It would appear that the MLB players potential ratings have been fixed which is what was promised. However the Minor league excess of A potential pitchers remains. I seen a count of 120 some A potential pitchers vs 20 position players.

Hopefully this is addressed in the "if" patch or next roster update.

But you have to draft for all 30 teams in the draft for all teh round, you can't just sim a pick.
And its hard to focus on one team this way, because in the standings, all of the teams are highlighted yellow because your controlling all of them. Its too much of a hassle for some people.

I'm still going to start my franchise today, but the best bet for me is to just sim one day at a time, and make sure no trades were made. I can't go through the draft having to select for all 30 teams, that is no fun.
