Re: update to 1.06?
So because he has no internet he should be penalyzed? That makes no sense. And I wouldn't say he's in the vast minority either. 85% of households dont exactly have internet. I know plenty of gamers that dont play online. Thats pretty much a disservice to a consumer if you're expecting them to have internet in order for their game to be complete and if they dont, then your response is that you're azzed out.Comment

Can you hook up your laptop with your PS3 with an ethernet cable? I have my PS3 hooked up to my desktop for online. You could take your PS3 to a friend/family house to update it.Comment

Not trying to be a jerk but I like to think that people who can afford depending on when they bought it a 300-600 gaming system with a 60 dollar game are going to have internet in their homes. Or at least know someone who has internet to use it on theirs to update.Comment

Re: update to 1.06?
Yeah. I agree. Just like the PS3 can be patched via a USB flashdrive, i think that the patches should also be available that way. Considering how the devs of the show are always looking to improve, this might be a good suggestion.PSN: ckarlic

85%? Really? I find that extremely hard to believe. So because he has no internet he should be penalyzed? That makes no sense. Not being penalized. You know ahead of time that sports games are going to have issues and that they fix these issues via a download from the internet. I would say the overwhelming majority of people that buy this game have the internet, 85 % would not be that unimaginable in my opinion. So because he has no internet he should be penalyzed? If the updates were made available in a way other than how it is now, I don't think you will see a new demographic start buying the game. Sales of the game are not being hindered because of people with no internet.Last edited by bababooey76; 03-03-2010, 09:56 AM.WWE 2k Universe : Re-Booking WWF And WCW After Wrestlemania IX: Universe

Re: update to 1.06?
No offense but thats not something to praise. I mean if you release a game, you shouldn't release it with expectations that there will be bugs. The Game should be tested heavily for bugs before its released. I would've rather preferred the game to come out April 6th with the bugs fixed and the rosters fixed than buy it, only to realize that i can't start a franchise until a week or two later because the game has bugs.
I mean with the whole potential issue in the game on the player ratings, yes they said they're going to release a fix with the next roster update that might come out Monday but it also means you can't start a franchise until the update has been released because if you start one now, the player's potential won't be changed on an existing franchise. I love the game dont get me wrong but its annoying that it starting to seem like fans are handed an unfinished product and you have to restart your franchise modes multiple times in order for the fixes to be put in.
I understand and respect where you are coming from. I am not going to make excuses for games but plenty of them go through hundreds of hours and still come out with glitches. Even the best of games come out not perfect. Games have a release day and this is a business. Pushing a baseball game back with competition is just going to be losing out on business.
With sports games and there 1 year development its getting to the point where fans are asking for more and more and maybe just maybe testing isn't done enough. The advantage of having the internet and a hard drive with the system we can all communicate about the problems with the game and have it be fixed. The first buyers of the game become the new testers and SCEA has tens of thousands of people playing dozens of hours each. This isn't bashing SCEA. My major point being is that all sorts of things are going to be discovered that could have made it past testing.Comment

You're not living in our reality. Sports games ship bugged now and get patched after release. That's just the way it is.Comment

I have a laptop with a broadband....so I have a connection, just not able to connect the PS3...
With rosters and whatnot you can transfer it to a USB...not sure with updates though. When life hands you a lemon, just look up and say, "Oh yeah, is that all you got? Because I love lemons!".Comment

Re: update to 1.06?
Oh definitely, you're not being a jerk, thats very true. And I would expect the same thing. But you can also say the same about Xbox or PS3 users that dont own a HDTV and play on a Standard Def TV. It makes no sense but some people do it anyways. I wouldn't say the internet is essential for PS3 users and Xbox users and i can understand someone not paying home internet because they see no use for it especially if they're a student or work for a business where the internet is easily accessible. I'm just a little bothered that it seems as if some companies are depending on releasing patches too much for games and not testing the product out heavily before release.Comment

I don't know, but I don't know how difficult that would be to do. Would not think it would be hard if there was a demand for it.WWE 2k Universe : Re-Booking WWF And WCW After Wrestlemania IX: Universe
