No, I am not kidding. I just don't see much difference in the game aside from a bunch of different tweaks. At it's core the game play is the same, if not a tad bit more slower/mechanical, as I had said before. I am not ripping this game at all. I own it, like it, will probably keep it due to the patch that is due out. I am just stating my opinion on what I don't like about this game and why I'm not sure if 10 is worth the upgrade from 09.Comment

I hardly ever post on here but I keep seeing this and altough everyone is certainly entitled to their own opinion, there is no way on God's green earth this year's MLB 10 is not better. Im sitting here playing it and I can feel the difference. Smoother, looks, better, some great additions to the game play. Just an awesome awesome game. Im at the point where Ive stopped reading many reviews. This is easily the best baseball video game ever made. And I usually hate when people say that type of thing. But I had to say it. But hey, to each his own I guess. I know Im gonna have a heckuva summer with this masterpiece.Comment

I do agree this years edition is easily hands down the winner in looks. I also agree that what I typed is certainly my opinion. It may be just me when I say that it plays slower than 09 (some say that means it is more realistic) and that is fine. Like I said, I like this years game I just think I may prefer last years game play over this years.Comment

10 looks gorgeous.
09 had a dull palette at times, and looked very much like a videogame. 10 is beautiful, vibrant, and much more lifelike. There are things about 10 that are bugging me that I really hope get fixed, but the graphics are way better than last year.Comment

MLB 10 has improved graphis, yes...but I wouldn't say miles better. Player details are much better, more animations that add to the look of realistic play (BUT, I think the litte animations are a bit overdone in MLB10..happens on too many routine plays causing player to be slow at getting somone out).
MLB 09 was weak on detailed animations, but was clean and crisp. cut and dry. short and sweet. I think MLB 10 can get distracting with all the cute animations. I also notice the Outfielders whip the ball back into the infield now, instead of gearing up to toss the ball back -- thus creating more outs and 1B and other bases (as noted in Bugs thread). MLB 09 purposely added a little annoying delay to RF when trying to throw to 1B on a single to right to keep from throwing out the slow guys at 1B.
I love the additions made graphically to MLB 10, but I personally feel there were to many subractions from MLB 09 (mostly due to bugs or maybe purposely by programmers).
If you never adjust your lineup and only want to play exhibition games in MLB 10 to enjoy the graphics, this game is superb. However, if you try to be engrossed by baseball managing aspects in MLB 10 - you will be disappointed (in it's current buggy state) and want to play MLB 09.Comment

Yep, and the swings seem faster.
As for the OP, that is odd, I find it much improved in the graphical department. Better textures on the player models. Some tweaked physical models (size of player differences), better dirt textures and wear, WAY better lighting, even at night and indoor stadiums, cloud shadows, etc etc.

the first thing i noticed when i played my first game (as the jays) on March 2 was how much better the lighting was!
in 09, a player with a "white" uniform would really have a light grey one... but now, with the sun shining on it in 10, it is really, REALLY bright white! and where there are shadows it is really dark, not just slightly darker...
for me, the lighting is the main reason the game looks SO much better. as others have said, in 09 you could tell it was a game, in 10, its much harder, esp. from a distance or looking at lower resolution videos (YouTube, IGN, etc.)Comment
