I picked up The Show this afternoon. Been fighting it all evening. I've been able to install the patch without problems, but when downloading gamedata it's frozen on me at 58%, 60%, then 92% (so damn close!).

Erase all that data.
Log out of PSN, make sure you are logged out, then boot up the game.
Let it install the game data, without getting the patch.

You should disconnect your ethernet cable (or disable the internet connection through the XMB) to the ps3 to be extra sure your not forced to install the patch before installing the game data.Comment

I thought you guys were on to something with that. I wasn't signed on to PSN, but I went ahead and disabled the internet connection. Start the game. It obviously didn't go to the patch because I wasn't connected and went into downloading GameData. Froze at 80%.
Any other ideas? Is my PS3 fvcked?Comment

last night i started up the game for the first time, my ps3 was in my basement where i get a much weaker connection. It said it was going to be about an hour to finish downloading so i left it and did some other things, came back and found out it had a problem and didnt finish downloading. I didnt feel like wasting another hour so i just took it up to my bedroom (i get great connection up there) and downloaded it up there and it took about 10 mins to finish. The reason i didn't just do that in the 1st place is because i was in no real rush and my big screen HD tv is in the basement so i wanted to play on that one. Thank god the major downloading is done though and all thats left is future patches.Comment

Just to be clear, my problem isn't with the patch, it's installing the gamedata to the Hard Drive. I've gone about it both ways. With a live internet connection I was able to dowload the patch successfully, but then the actual game data freezes. I disconnected my connection so it skips the patch and goes right to download the game to the Hard Drive. Still the same issues. Freezing at 57% or 60%.Comment

It done this to me before with another game and I didn't have enough memory for it to install. I had to erase some demo's or other data to get it to work. Try thatComment

I may try to swap out discs with the store.
I don't play a whole lot, barely had anything on the hard drive. Went ahead and wiped it clean, still the same issues.

I've pretty much given up at this point. I put NCAA 10 in (for the first time since October...crap game) and it works just fine. No Show for me this year it looks like
