    Low quality of saved replays/highlights

I noticed that all of my highlights and replays saved to the XMB are a terrible resolution of 640 width and only take up around 10-15 MB in space.

Is there any way to save higher quality replays for the sake of uploading them to youtube?

yeah I believe standard def. is 480 width

I was just saying it would be nice if we could choose the resolution of saved videos, since a lot of ps3s have large hard drives and size isn't an issue (I have the default 120GB slim model)

I shouldn't have to buy high priced 3rd party hardware to save the already saveable replays at a better quality...know what I mean?

We compress the videos on the PS3 once you upload them they will return to their regular resolution.

thank you for responding, although I'm not sure I understand fully.

If I copy a saved highlight from the XMB to my thumb drive, then copy it to my PC, the .mp4 file is still the same compressed file size as it was on the PS3. When does it become decompressed? (larger file size/higher resolution)

                - Copy it to a flash drive off of your XMB
                - Upload it (via YouTube, Tiny Pic, etc...)

                End Result:

                <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/QhkNfT7Bv1k&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/QhkNfT7Bv1k&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

ok...again...I appreciate your response but nobody is understanding my original post/question.

The problem is not uploading the videos to youtube..I have uploaded many highlight videos to youtube.

My question is, is there a way to export highlight videos at a better resolution. The current exported .mp4 videos are at a width of 640 pixels. I wish to increase this, is there a way? Russell claimed something in a previous post ^^ but misunderstood me and couldn't answer...

Re: Low quality of saved replays/highlights

whatever size they are on the PS3, thats the size the game saves them as...

you cannot change this, thats the way it is programmed into the game

if you want to record gameplay/replays/highlights in HD, you will have to buy one of those Dazzle things i mentioned

that's what my point is...they are much larger than 640 width in the game...do you understand?

They make them small (YouTube size) on purpose. So that the file size is small and easy to upload to YouTube size videos. You know how large the videos would be full size? Huge. Not practical with what they are trying to accomplish.

You want full size you need a Recorder like mentioned earlier.

You should have the option to record in 720p. YouTube supports 720p, and if I want to spend the time to upload in this resolution, why not give me the option? (Or maybe I just want to save it locally. Why not?) 480 is pretty lame. :-)
