Speaking as someone who actually did sell their 360 to buy a PS3 just so I could play The Show, I don't regret it at all.

A big thing, though, is that I don't really play shooters. I pretty much only play sports games. If you're a big shooter guy, you might want to keep your 360, because that's where it's at for those games. I don't play shooters, like I said, but even I miss playing Gears of War.

I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I'm a sports gamer with financial restrictions but if I had a PS3 instead of a 360, you can bet that I would have played The Show already. My simple question is this: Is this game worth selling your 360 and 360 merchandise to get a PS3 and this game?
My favorite baseball game of all time is MVP 2005 and I've never liked the 2k representation even when it was a solid franchise. I've been tempted to do this the last couple years but decided I didn't want to start over and my wife would kill me if I used some of our tax money to just buy a PS3 (honestly, I can't afford it so I wouldn't blame her).
Please be respectful and realize that I would have already made the decision if I had a PS3, so if you have to put it up against other sports games to make a point, so be it.

i bought a ps3 for 3 reasons

1. The Show Baseball series
2. Hot Shots Golf Series
3. Blu Ray

everything else was a plus, its worth saving your $$$ to buy a ps3 and own the show if youre a baseball fan. 2k can shed a light on this game

No it is NOT worth selling the 360 for IMO. Unless you just play offline then "maybe".
I have too much fun on LIVE.

If I could only have 1 system it would be the 360, period.
Now in my case I could afford a PS3 and bought one @ $600.00 just for The Show

yeah i bought mine 2 years ago, it was worth it, i still play all my cross platform games on 360 but its worth just for the show, i promise you wont be disappointed, and the blu ray player is nice too

I know exactly your dilemma on this one. I finally got the RROD on the Xbox, but it was still under warranty. I had it fixed, sold it for $130 and had some gift cards to buy the PS3 and the Show 09. I have not been disappointed at all. In fact, this past year has been amazing for video games. Things like Little Big Planet, Uncharted, Uncharted 2...etc. have made me love the purchase.

I have to say, the way the Show plays has made me more engrossed in a baseball game than I have ever been. And then Road to the Show is such an awesome feature. No game has made me so involved, getting excited about being called up, annoyed at my players for making errors, pissed at my manager for taking me out early, and being sad about being sent back down. I mean...that was some serious entertainment for a baseball game.

I bought my PS3 for two reasons: Blu-Ray and The Show 08. I now have a RROD 360 and a Wii that is only used by my wife.

I'm on my fourth 360. I had the RROD three times. I was able to use a Gamestop warranty twice but had to send it into Microsoft the third time when my warranty expired.

Worth selling the 360 to get? I say no, because I use my 360 a lot still. But is it worth buying a PS3 for it and the other exclusive games that it has, sure it is. I always thought no, but I made this decision last year right after opening day and I haven't been disappointed at all. Of course not everyone can afford to own both and in my current situation I probably wouldn't have been able to do so, but back then I had the money to buy it.

I traded my 360 straight up for my ps3. I was lucky enough to find someone who really wanted a 360. bought the show the same night. The only thing that sometimes gets annoying about ps3 is when the updates take like 30 min. and you cant play online without the update. But its definitely a stronger system. Microsoft just wants you to pay for everything your system can do and also the video quality is so much stronger on the ps3. the nhl10 is the best evidence of this

Look at what forum you're asking opinions from. Sure they are going to tell you to buy a PS3.

I would've agreed last year and seriously thought about buying one, however 2K has massively improved their game this year and now I'm glad I didn't take the plunge.

My advice, esp. since you have cash shortage, stick with your 360 and pick up MLB 2K10.

I'm with you. Not going into the console "war", but I prefer my 360. Only use the PS3 for the "Show" and a few movies now and then.

To the OP, I can feel your dilemma though. If your a big fan of baseball, do what you need to do. To let you know, I pretty much play this exclusively until football season. So if your like me, maybe this game can hold you over for most of the year.

simply put,mlb 10 the show IS a platform game. i picked up a ps3 last year for the show09 & have not regretted it. along with games like unchartered & gran tourismo, if you are a baseball fan you need a copy of the show. i have speent many years playing the "other" bb game & enough is enough already. what are you waiting for???
