With Skyboxers' fix of assigning a seperate CPU profiles... were the unoverridable trades encountered outlandish or reasonable?

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds
In RTTS, for the occasional pre-game batting practice freeze, when you restart your RTTS, sim to the opening game of the next series and the freeze will be gone.
If you don't want to sim ahead, turn off pre-game batting practice for that series only and turn it back on when the next series is starting.Comment

Skyboxers is so that you can have the CPU on AUTO trades(with the assigned profiles for those teams...not NO PROFILE which will default to the GLOBAL options)...and NOT have the CPU trade for you. They will automatically trade with each other...with no chance to override.
Some might say the trades were excessive....

****No matter what you have slider set for for injuries when you start a franchise it will go back to default. Make sure before playing to go into sliders after you start franchise and move injuries to 0. Otherwise you're looking at a HUGE amount of injuries.****
Last night I did a test as there was some confusion as to whether the injury slider affected simmed games... I guess we still don't know for sure so this may have been a continuing fluke but.....
With slider at default (5) there were I believe 120'ish injuries in 5 weeks.
With slider at 0 there were 15 in 5 weeks.Joshua:

The override is for the first method....with your and the global set to MANUAL for trades.

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds
I just posted this in another thread, but it seems like it should be easier to find here for those that wish to access retired numbers...
I'm not sure how the new 30 team control will play in to this in Franchise (my guess is it won't change anything), but the workaround from last year still works.
1. Go to Roster Control and then Manage Rosters. If it's like last year it ONLY works in Roster Control...not regular roster management (like team management in Franchise Mode)
2. Select the player you wish to edit and swap him with someone in the minors.
3. Edit him while he's in the minors to whatever number you want.
4. Swap him back into the majors and he'll be wearing the number (whether it's retired or someone else already wears it...in theory you could have a team of 23s on the Cubs if you wanted).
Note that ANY future edits to the player in question OR roster moves/transactions for the team will reset the number and you'll have to do it again through Roster Control. This why you may likely still need to select Roster Control (over 30 team control) if you wish to do this in Franchise.Comment

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds
I don't want to start a new thread and clutter up the front page but I'm wanting to know what people are doing on this forum as far as franchise. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is trying to decide whether or not to start a franchise or wait until a patch is released. I've kind of gotten lost in the threads here. Can someone clarify what the major issue(s) are with franchise mode? What is causing some of you guys not to go ahead and start a franchise, besides waiting for Knight's rosters? I'm trying to decide what to do but I don't want to start a franchise if there's some kind of glarring bug that I'm overlooking.
It seems the primary bug has to do with trades. But controlling all 30 teams corrects this, right? Again, sorry if I am going over old information but I'm just trying to wrap my head around everything.
And what about the double switch? I've heard it's broken and it's not. Which one is it?
And lastly, has SCEA even said that they are working on a new patch? I'd at least like to know that they are planning on fixing problems before I wait for nothing.Comment

Thanks Knight.
It'd be really nice if we didn't need these work arounds and were given a quality game. Wish I had saved my money for once.Comment

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds
The game IS a quality game on a lot of levels. Yes it has issues and I'm also a bit disappointed in the franchise stuff also but to say it was a waste of money is a stretch. However to each their own.Joshua:

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds
I actually like the idea of being a "trade overlord" it helps me keep up with which players are going where. My only question is, what about when we want to make a trade? Wouldn't anything go through? I could trade Mike Fontenot for Albert Pujols and it would go through if I'm controlling both teams, right? That's the only thing I have a problem with. If that is the case I will have to have a sense of self-control and only make what I deem to be "realistic" trades. Kind of takes away from the game in that regard.Comment

Re: MLB '10 The Show Tips and Work Arounds
Anyone know a fix to keep the CPU from subbing out players in the first inning? I was the Yankees playing the Marlins in an exhibition and after the top of the first, the Marlins subbed out Maybin and their catcher. Any way to correct this problem?
Also, I am guessing if I turn on roster control that no trades will happen like when in the past? I prefer the CPU not trade anyone. Does the fix apply of will it work like in the past?NFL: Tennessee Titans
