I play manage only also. Level(difficulty) doesn't matter. It's all up to ratings at that point(that's why I love it)

Thanks...and I too love the way the franchise feels with the 30 team control.
Remember...in the off season...you can step in and change/make offers for any team...you don't even need to take control of that teams contracts/FA/financials...just go to the team screen....make the change/offer and watch it carefully.
Great way to make sure Jeter signs with the Yanks....etc.
Also a great way to control payroll.

That is exactly why I like Manager Mode as well..I am really thinking about turning the DH off for my franchise..I am a lifelong Red Sox fan but not a fan of the DH..unfortunately I think the NL is going to go to a DH soon as well...it's much more fun to manage with no DH..of course that means Big Papi plays first and Youk over at third with an expensive pinch hitter and defensive replacement in Beltre

anyone else seeing power aganst LH hitters all really when looking at a batters ratings during an a bat...like the biggest sluggers all have RH power high then LH poer levels all low..i dont get it cause then when i edit player it it has the right levels...?

Mainly sac bunt. The AI always wants to leave the bunt on with 2 strikes, even with a position player, if it feels the situation calls for a bunt. I have yet to find a way to stop it since they took "swing away" out and made backing out of the R2 menu a function of "Play Ball".

Last year I could avoid the AI doing anything for me, this year I can't find a way to stop it on anything it wants to do on offense.

ok, can someone clarify this Tropicana Field thing for me? I have to play there in my franchise coming up in a bit...

If I don't hit select, I have no problem? I don't use the select button when I go to the bullpen. I use the up arrow on the pad to access the quick menu. I don't know what the select button even does in there admittedly. After the arrow, it's just a bunch of hitting x to click on things and scrolling around. What's the purpose of even using the select button? Besides ending warmup pitches for a reliever, I don't even know of any reason to use that button the entire game.

Hate to sound redundant but I've been working all week so I haven't been able to read the forums daily.

Can you tell me how enjoyable the franchise experience is with these "workarounds"? Are potentials too annoying?

I won't seriously go into player development until the Full Minors rosters are out but I'll like to sit down this weekend and get at least two years simming before Opening Day.

I think...just using 30 team control(I'm finding A LOT about what it really is covering by just "fooling around" with it right now) franchise will be a great experience. Me...I like to tinker, so guys that don't want to check on things...make some adjustments(for the CPU occasionally)....may find it a little less enjoyable...but I like to go through the CPU teams...and see what's going on anyway....so for me, it's a no-brainer....the fact I can now fix a lineup.....force a trade or signing...influence the FA period..all without actually taking over the CPU teams...just "nudging" them and in turn the league and franchise in the direction I want is awesome.


Tovarich...I've yet to really checked on the Trop bug too much.
Maybe PM the two guys who found the work around? Sorry I can't be more direct help with that one.

Azamien....that's unfortunate.....Let me know if you come up with something...since that's my mode also.
I'll be sure and prod Kolbe a lot more on MoM for '11.

I don't think the NL will ever go to the DH, if anyone changes I think the AL would go with no DH but I don't see that happening either.

I hate the DH, I wish it would go away.

Ok I'm a little confused about waivers.

So, I have them set to manual in my global options so basically I'm having to control every team. If I want to place someone on trade waivers or designate a player for assignment but would like to have the CPU make the decision whether they claim them or not, can I do that? Can I put someone on waivers, switch it to auto, have a team put a claim on them, and have the final decision come through me? Or do I have to put someone on waivers and claim/trade them myself?

lol, sorry.

Basically I would like players to be placed on waivers and claimed by the CPU but I don't want unrealistic things happening. That's why I have waivers on manual, I want to make sure I have the final say before a transaction is completed.

My question is there anyway for me to do that or do I just have to control everything myself?
