Thanks man! Don´t be angry, be happy that the franchise is in our beloved town. Winner is allways Chicago! I am more to traditions, to oldfashioned ballparks and to blue-red-white.

          The bottom line, I suck.

Here is how most of my games go.

1st Inning, CPU team will get a run. They will either Walk, steal, base hit me. Or get a hit, then a double to knock in the run. Seems as though I give up a run in the 1st.

Trhough various methods, they generally pile on some runs in innings 4-7, it always ends up being 4-1, 5-1, 6-2 something like that going into the 7th and 8th. I always come back to make it like 6-4 or something, then the closer throws 0 balls over the plate,m but I swing anyway and strike out 2-3 times in the 9th. I have played prob 20-30 games and most go like this.

I may have won 2 games.

here is something telling. I added new winning team audio and it took me a week to hear it. I turned everything to rookie and still lost 5 games before I won one to hear it. When I found out it only played for 5 seconds I nearly lost it.

wtf could I be doing wrong? When I pitch, it seems like walks are programmed into this game as with some batters, I just cant throw strikes. Even when I hot the meter perfectly it will be a ball. I run the meter to the red, is that wrong to do? The ball very rarely goes to the location I want it to yet I am pretty good at hitting the line on the meter. whats the deal with that?

Also, Hitting, do you guys use the left stick or something to aim or anything?

Finally, can somebody explain to me how to steal if there are runners at 1st and 3rd and I just want the guy at first to steal second? every single time I try the way the book tells me, the dude on 3rd still tries to steal home. Is there a glitch or something?

I know I have to be doing things wrong. Im getting beat consistently and convincingly on rookie/rookie
any insight into this post? i have some of the same questions

Re: Looser won his 1st game after 0-14 start!

Guys I will tell you one observation after my first victory:

If you are not an excellent hitter in MLB 10 THE SHOW, You have to focus on opposite part of the game - DEFENCE. I knew that I will never win until I wont allow more than 3 runs against me. (Maximum runs I was able to score in one game was 4 in 14 games). Defence wins the game.

            1.Start with your starting pitcher
            2. Focus on every pitch
            3. Mix types and speed
            4. Try to hold zero as long as possible
            5. If your pitcher is beginning allowing hits in row, and your bases are beiing loaded, vistit bullpen and send a reliever to warm-up.
            6. If problems continue-call mound visit.
            7. If this doesnt help- send starter down, call reliever, dont be afraid to do it in 2nd inning if it is necessary.
            8. If you hesitate and wait for a miracle-it can cost you 4-5 runs.
            9. Every next inning send a new reliever.
            10. Try to score at bat, some hits are needed to win a game!
Thats it, the way i won!

Re: Looser won his 1st game after 0-14 start!

                Guys I love you!

After my first victory (after 0-14 start) that I mentioned in my first post, you guys gave me a big support to continue and not give up. This game is fuking GREAT, it is hard to go on after lot of defeats but it is possible to learn it!

Right after my 3-2 victory I fall to Indians 0-4 with 1 hit in whole game! That was the point where I started to think WHAT EM I DOING WRONG?
I turned off GUESS PITCH (lot of distraction) and started to do 2 things when hitting:

                1. BE Patient (wait, work on coun-not swing at every good first pitch)
                2. WAIT FOR MY PITCH

As I also mentioned in 15 games I was able to score max. 4 runs.

                Until...

                Game 16:

CUBS- ROYALS 7:3 (i was up 2-0, then it was 2-2, 2-3, but in eight inning 5:0!!!!!!!!

I didnt move the sliders, I just changed my philosophy, I said to myself: You cant be such a looser, you have to win and score runs-MORE runs, and I did it!

Watch this historic moment, watch all 7 runs as it happens:

Soriano´s homer started this blowout at 8th inning when I was 2:3 down:

As Rocky Balboa said: "If I can change, you can change...the whole world can change" It means all MLB 10 frustratrd users can change and turn to VICTORY!

Re: Looser won his 1st game after 0-14 start!

I started my pre knight roster A's with a 10-32 record. I was starting wonder if I needed to adjust my sliders and/or level. So I started another season with the KC Royals but with all silver era starters and the exact same difficulty and sliders. I went 14-3 before calling it quits. So I guess the point is that the developers did a great job in making the game very realistic. While I expect the real A's to start out with a slightly better record than I did, they have had the same problems the last three years that I had: hitting with runners in scoring position, or I guess just plain scoring. All 10 of the games I won were close and required good to great pitching and perfect defense. I lost a lot of games that could have went the other way when those elements were not in place.

                          Update:

You can learn to win in this game! After I started 0-14 and not gave up on this game, here are my results:
                          W 3-2 White Sox
                          L 0-4 Indians
                          W 7-3 Royals
                          L 1-2 Rangers
                          L 1-3 Diamondbacks
                          W 8-4 Padres

So I am 3-3 after I sarted to win in this game, and it is great!
