    I figured it out...hopefully this will resolve the other poster's issues too.

    In your franchise if you go to gameplay > options be sure to set both INJURIES and INJURY MANAGEMENT to manual. I was only setting injury management to manual and as soon as I set "injuries" to manual I was able to go to the Team Management screen > Disabled List and then hit L1 and you'll get the option to see the roster and set anyone up with an injury. Hope this works for the rest of you.

        I'm officially the forums biggest *******! I figured out how to do it. If you're doing what i did wrong then this is the answer: Make sure that the "injuries" setting in the global section is set to "manual" and not "on". And make sure the injury managment is, of course, set to "manual". Hopefully this helps you out, if you haven't gotten it up to now.
