Trades happen WAY to often that rtts is unplayable.. Derek Jeter signs with the Blue Jays??? Give me a break! John Lester, David Ortiz and Ramon Ramirez traded for a made up guy? What a crock of Sh!t! Trades happen like evry other day how unrealistic is that? Please come up with a patch that actually fixes this major problem. It continues to happen year in and year out. I love the idea that you can download the minor league roster, but it totally defeats the purpose when they are all traded anyway.. At least give us the option in rtts to turn trades off.

Re: RTTS unattainable goals
It's a matter of managing your goals. As long as you hit all your attribute goals, you're generally going to be fine. Best idea, I think, is to ignore them early (when they can't hurt you anyways because you're already at the bottom) and get your attributes up, then concentrate on the attribute goals from there out. If you hit 3/5 or something like that, they call that good. Ultimately, it's your rating and stats that decide the call up so long as you're hitting a reasonable number of goals. There are two types of people on OS: Those who disagree with me, and those who agree.
The first kind is wrong. The second is superfluous.

Re: RTTS unattainable goals
My take is RTTS is being very realistic.
I never had played RTTS in any previous version but have played the game a ton in franchise for years now. I get sick of hitting (seriously, I hate it) so I figure, why not try being a SP in RTTS? So I pick my RHP as a pretty skinny 6'4" Lincecum (I like the delivery) and go with a 4 seam fastball, knucklecurve & change-up. I got drafted by the Orioles (d'oh). Throw it on Hall of Fame & here I go...
Start in the bullpen in AA. Within 10 appearances, including 2 saves (one taking over for closer after he loaded the bases; other 3IP variety), I'm moved into the rotation because I met all my goals (they're easy if you just worry about them and then just use excess on your pitches). I concentrate on beefing up my velocity on both the knuclecurve & change-up to allow my already 91MPH fastball be 91MPH. I lost my first 2 starts (0-2 overall) and then proceeded to go on a 14 game winning streak (started the season in the 'pen and ended up starting the EL all-star game). How did I do this? Simple: concentrated on goals, used excess points on pitches & kept at it. Anyone who has pitched in offline play regularly should be able to dominate AA teams with a simple fastball/change-up combo (I got primarily ground balls off it, with about 7K/9IP). I got called up to AAA right after the non-waiver trade deadline (August 2, I believe) where I went 1-0 in 2 starts (2ER in 14.2IP, 0BB & 5H).
They then called me up to the majors in the second week of August (first year). I went 4-4 with a 5.46ERA in 10 starts.
In real life, if a pitcher goes 14-2 in AA (dominating, my ERA was 1.70) & 1-0 in AAA (dominating), they're finishing the year in the majors. The problem? It was my first year as a professional. I'm now in my second year, still on the Orioles roster but completely screwed. I haven't met a single goal for over three months but they won't send me to AAA (stuck in middle relief). I have three pretty good pitches in my fastball, change-up & knucklecurve but a simple fastball/change-up combo doesn't do against major league hitters. I'm 7-9 with a 6.75ERA (8 starts & 38 relief appearances). I have no idea what to do except laugh. It's real to a tee--I performed well so they rushed me because they were thin on SP and now I'm in over my head.
You guys can hate being in AA or AAA but I miss AA. My last three starts there were complete game shutout, complete game shutout & 8IP/1ER/11K. I was running out of important ways to use the points I had.Comment

The same thing happened to me with my closer....they rushed me up because I was completing my goals but once I got to the majors I was screwed. However, after doing so poorly in the majors or because someone came back from injury I would be optioned to AAA but after completing my goals I was right back up to the majors. Its even harder with a closer cause your points are so limited.Comment
