Anybody else have difficulties getting contract offers in RTTS?

Okay, I'm 27 years with my RTTS player, been in the league since I was 20. Played over 7 years (Sim mostly) and I've completely filled out all of my attributes. Won multiple MVP's already. Yeah, not so realistic. But whatever.

So you would think every team would be offering me a multi-year deal. Especially high market teams like New York and Boston. I receive exactly no offers. None. Not even from the team I just won the MVP with. Not sure what the problem is. Is this a glitch, I wonder?

Curious to see if this has happened to anyone else. I know I can sign with any team in spring, but it sort of takes away the excitement of the off season.

You're not the only one to experience this.

The reason you're not getting any contract offers (assuming you have already accumulated 6 years of MLB service time), is that you're player is so good, his presumed value is beyond that what teams are willing/have money to pay.

    Essentially, you're too good. :-p

Just wait until spring training rolls around, and pick a team to tryout for.

Well, that sucks. I hope this can be fixed next year. I want to get an ARod type offer. Ya know, a 10 year, $250 million

It is cause they have too many A prospects on the game. Every team by year 6 has their number 5 pitcher as an A overall. Look at the FA list. You will see 24 year old A overall catchers unsigned for the rest of their careers. Too many great players.

I didn't have too much trouble. Playing CF for Yanks. Got called up on June 23, 2010 (yeah not too realistic, but still happy.). Won ROTY and signed a 4 year 12.5 mil contract.

That's not the situation we're referring to.

In your case, your player was still undeveloped enough, that his value was at a point where the Yankees still felt you could be signed. (Also, I'm assuming you had yet to qualify for Free-Agency).

What we're talking about is that when your player has reached at least 6 years of MLB service time, and is a 'Top Tier' player. (Think of every attribute at or near 'A' Level). Or like the OP, where he has already won multiple MVP awards and is still rather young. In this case, the player is theoritcally worth somewhere around $20 million year, and many teams aren't willing to pay that much for player.

Combine that problem with the fact that by 5-6 years into a franchise, the over-abundance of 'A' level pitchers and players has over-saturated the league with talent, making it even harder for your player to be signed.

I'm having the same problem. I created the best pitcher in the majors and yuo would think after his contract is up you would see about a dozen contract offers. Anyone know how you do the spring training for another team? i'm now in my 5 year with the mets in the majors, and they keep forcing me Arbitration.

You should get about 30 offers (xD) just like any godly player should. I have 2 of these "Godly" players, a first baseman and a pitcher who are completely maxed out. Even if the offers aren't 10 years 250 mil (my pitcher signed one of those xD) you should get offers. Period. One of the few problems with this game :S

What i want is to have the contract of my choice if my player is too good, maybe i don't want to play for the A's for 5 years.

Re: Anybody else have difficulties getting contract offers in RTTS?

I just recently became a free agent after 6 years of service time with my right fielder. He is 25 years old. I'm another one who didn't receive many offers in the offseason. I'm not even completely maxed out either. My fielding and speed are B and C and everything else is A.

Anyway, I only received two contract offers the whole offseason. One being from my former team, the Cleveland Indians, and the other was from the Tampa Bay Rays. Both teams were offering 6 years and around $75 million. I decided to sign with the Rays since I was able to bump it up to $82 million. Plus their team has been very good the past few seasons in my game. Postseason every year for the past 5 or 6 years.

Oddly enough, I was also thinking about waiting until spring training and trying to sign with the Nationals. They have been a beast the last 3 seasons in my RTTS. They've been to the World Series 3 straight seasons, but they also lost in all 3. Two of them to the Red Sox who won back to back.
