Incorrect Commentary

Dave C. says "Thought they might have a chance for two, but they come up with none!"

Why was it incorrect

Man on 1st and 2nd. Grounder to Jeter who flips to Cano at 2nd who misses the ball. Too bad it was already 2 outs, so there was no way to turn two in the first place.

It was actually going into the bottom of the 5th inning.

Commentary: Matt says let's take a look at the playoff bracket(don't remember his exact phrasing, and says the winner of my series (Toronto-New York) will face Detroit in the World Series.

Incorrect: Apart from that being impossible anyway since you can't have 2 AL teams, I beat Detroit in the first round.

I had 2 in one game yesterday:

Incorrect Commentary

My SS committed an error to lead off the 7th inning. Dave said "What a terrible time for an error as that unearned run has tied the game." (or something close to that).

Why was it incorrect

The game was already tied going into the inning and the guy only reached first on the play (no run was scored).

Matt mentioned toward the end of the game that if we held on for the win it would put us at 3 games over .500

Why was it incorrect

I was 5-10 going into the game...the win was going to put me at 4 games below .500

COMMENTARY SITUATION
During those great stadium pans around the late innings, Matt seems to always refer to the empty seats, e.g. "...and let's just call it an empty seat or two."

WHY IT'S WRONG
He says this when stadiums are packed. Maybe just reserve this for the Marlins home games or something, but saying it over and over at a sold out Wrigley doesn't make sense.

In the 8th inning 'pan around the stadium' with the box score on the screen Matt says something about the Twins having a good game and leading here in the 8th...

I'm the Twins and I was losing 4-3 at the time...

Why was it incorrect

Man on 1st and 3rd with one out. It was a bloop single and I was trying to throw the runner out going from 1st to 3rd.

Incorrect Commentary. This defensive change for the Nationals, now playing catcher Geovanny Soto


Why was it incorrect. My catcher on the Cubs ,Koyie Hill went down with an injury in the top of the inning, then when it was my(Cubs) turn to bat in the bottom of the inning the announcer made the call as if the Nationals catcher had been replaced

Why it is incorrect: Miguel Tejada is not a rookie and he is not a young player.

Wrong: A player hit a single to center, one of the commentators mentioned now having a two-out baserunner.

Why: There was 1 out, not 2 at the time.

Then you hear the PA announcer say it as it looks, (incorrect)
