You sure about that?? So what errors do they make....just throwing errors??

I could count on both hands(10) the number of times in my 100+ games that I saw a fielder completely botch a routine groundball where it went right through the wickets.

I agree with Countryboy on this. I have played a bunch of games and maybe seen that happen 3 or 4 times. So I would say it happens as much in this game as it does in real life.

But let's just say what you say is true, that it happens too much, it still wouldn't take away from how great the game is.

Funny how gamers today expect games to be perfect. I guess some of the younger gamers are spoiled. Growing up I was playing baseball on a commodore 64 and Atari so these games today are far better than anything I thought I would ever see.

I only just started playing this game, and shots down the line are extremely difficult.

              1. The ball comes off the bat too fast. I have so far lowered the solid contact slider, hoping that will help... Remains to be seen at this point.

              2. The camera angles still need a great deal of work. "Low" is pretty much useless. With "High" you can barely see the ball. "Broadcast" makes it hard to read the depth. I use "Medium" mainly because it is the lesser of all evils.

In fact the camera angles are my biggest gripe with the game so far, either that or the home run trot that has every player showing off his arm pit as they touch each base.

I'm using "Medium" camera for fielding, and "Broadcast" for when on offense. It gives the game variety, and seems to work the best.

Really though, the cameras need serious work... And that includes replay cameras too. It's pretty much common sense that a camera should capture everything at the best angle, and with the right composition. It looks bad on replays to have the camera zoom in on a home run ball so that all you see is it, in the midst of vast sky. I mean, if you are a photographer and you are taking a portrait, you don't zoom in on the person's nose.

By definition, players get assigned an error for a mistake on routine plays.

A mistake made on a tough play is ruled a hit.

They're the same fans that sit in the stadium and wonder why the pitcher just doesn't throw 9 strikes and get the inning over with already.

Re: Giving up on Manual/Assisted Fielding

I grew up on BASEBALL for the NES.

I have seen a sad, growing trend among gamers these days. The people that feel entitled, that everything is owed to them, that every game should be perfect and if it's not they scream bloody murder or how horrible the developers are. The people that bitch cuz a certain color of sock is not in the game, or that the stadium is not exact enough.

Man, I am glad I can just sit back and not worry about those things and enjoy it for what it is, a video game played for entertainment purposes.

I thought it would be a young person from the "elitist" post...then a few posts prior to yours he sounds like a guy you'd listen to on OS.

Rondoman do more of the latter. No need to come in here with all this "why even play the game if they field for you" BS.

If you throw an "In my opinion it's important to field because you miss an important part of the game" in there it's all good. Because it's YOUR opinion...not fact.

BRB playing The Show with auto-fielding and loving it! Nothing like have a smooth fielding 3B like Ryan Zimmerman just snag everything around him. I can't come close to replicating how good he is in real life...it just doesn't look nearly as smooth!

Agreed.. Been playing this way for a couple of years. Fielding ratings matter now, imo.

I went to autofielding...the players just look smooth and realistic making their plays. With me fumble thumbing the freaking controller they make jerky motions, it looks terrible and destroys the illusion I'm actually got a 'real' game going on.
