I'm 10-8 with the Nats. 5-8 isn't a bad record. The real Dodgers are 8-10.
I really believe this game can psych some people out and the placebo effect takes place. With the different levels and sliders you should be able to find your comfort level. If you need to play some exhibition games to find it, maybe you should, but don't know why 5-8 is so bad.
Wow! some impressive records people have. I guess I'm just not that good. I know 5-8 doesn't sound that terrible, but I spent more hours this weeked fri-sun on this game than I ever have and had such disappointing results. I know the real Dodgers are 8-10 and lost 2 of 3 to the nats and reds each on this road trip so it happens irl.

People who are having problems with the game HAVE to move down in levels. If it's ROOKIE,so be it, but it's a starting point and you can adjust sliders, move up later. I play on VET/VET whereas I was on HOF with 08.

I don't like to admit this, considering I play on legend and I'm very good at the game, however I had a 10 game losing streak in my franchise last year, it came straight after a 15 game winning streak so it wasn't that bad.

This year though the longest losing streak in my Franchise so far is 3.

I just restarted on Legend cuz I was on HOF with the Reds and was 9-4. Most of my games the cpu had 2-3 runs except for the series I played Cards and they scored 13 and 11 in a couple unfocused games. My batting avg as a team was hovering around .300 and that was irritating me. My lineup looked like the 2010 Dodgers as I had 3 guys batting over.400 and the rest were either .300 or slightly below. Harang had a 1.13 ERA after 3 starts against the Cards Cubs and Pirates. Here's hoping to nailbiting comebacks and heartbreaking losses for my underachieving Reds.

I seem to go on a 5 game win streak, then I can't hit anything and lose the next 4 in a a row.

Currently I'm 12-9 in my Royals Franchise.

I usually pick a bad team, and get a few of my favorite players from around the league and throw them into a bad team and see what I can do. In the royals I have Jacoby, JJ Hardy, Ian Kinsler and Dirty Sanchez from the SP from the Giants.

It's been a real battle so far, if I don't knuckle down every game, I lose badly. My wins are always close, but some of my losses have been by 7+ runs.

JJ Hardy's attributes aren't mind blowing, but for some reason he is clutch with the bat and the glove.

I have a Dodgers franchise and I use CHD's sliders. I started the season really hot, even winning 9 in a row. I got to the point where I almost restarted my franchise but then right after the streak I went on a slump, playing .500 ball. It was a tough stretched getting swept by the reds and losing the next 2 series. Now, I'm starting to get things back in order and standing at 35-17, first in the NL West, and the 2nd place Giants are 6 games back. Of course I made trades to bolster the lineup a little bit, but like in real life, my bullpen usually isn't getting it done. LOL

For those who are struggling, I say tough it out. It's a long season, and before you know it, you might turn things around and finally get the hang of it. Cheers!

Just had a 9-game losing streak. I have to say, it sucked and sucked hard.

2-2 since, but man, it's still looming, like - any moment, another one can start up

Second, and I know this is a little bit of a taboo subject, what does it take for you to say enough is enough and start your franchise over? Some of the things I have seen in this losing streak have me scratching my head because of the timing in which they happen but, I am beginning to come out of a prolonged hitting slump and playing much tighter games. I have considered it. I am not going to lie but then I think " maybe i will just end up 2-12 again so not worth it."

Just interested to hear some opinions on the subject.
It's probably because you are the REDS Pick a good team like the Cardinals, hah.

On a serious note, aren't you glad this actually CAN happen, I remember quite a few years ago where I would play Madden or NCCA and would always win the National Championship and the Superbowl and be basically undefeated. I had to TRY to lose....

Glad this game can actually beat me and I am only playing on Veteran.

Papelbon BLOWING his last 4 save opportunities and sporting a 7.79 ERA.....

Beckett is 2-6 with a 5.98 EA....but 2nd in the league in K's (go figure)...

Pedroia is batting .288 with ZERO HRs and only 22 RBIs...

Drew is batting .188 and leads my team in SO by quite the margin...

Ellsbury is now batting 9th due to his complete and utter inability to HIT the broad side of a barn with a plane.... (.220 avg 2 HR 16 RBIs)

So...YEAH....I have reached the breaking point...But thats baseball and a reason why i LOVE this game (small issues aside). Still only in 3rd place 7.5 games out chasing the RAYS and Yanks (thats surprising) but Baltimore is only 9.0 game out.

                    I am currently in Mid-June....

Same here. i started off 8-12 with StL. My only concern is that Cincy started off 10-0, and is now 15-5 (and this is without Volquez; I do real life injuries/suspensions) ... so hopefully they come back to Earth (Kip Wells, Homer Baily, and Adam Harang are just pitching out of this world, like ERA's below 1.5 good) ... so things will normally work themselves out. The only other outliers in the franchise are DET, who have the front-runners for MVP, CY, and ROY (Johnny Damon, Max Scherzer, and Scott Sizemore).

There was a guy at VSN last year that ran a Diamondbacks franchise, where he was something like 69 - 93. I don't know if I would see it through all the way like he did, but that was commendable.

IMO, this is why you pick a team you like, it's easier to sustain a franchise through the downs when you really enjoy the team and have a vested/rooting interest.

Through 30 games my Dodgers are doing pretty awful in the standings but I haven't had a prolonged losing streak yet. I have been swept twice so far but usually win 1 game a series. I have not won a series yet.

My hitting is pretty spot on and maybe even a little too good. Team B.A. is .290 , and my power feels about right with 33 HR. Manny is leading that with 6 and each non pitcher has at least one HR.

My pitching has really let me down and I do not have an ace of the staff yet, I only have one starter with a win and he only has 1. They don't take losses either the most has 2. My Bullpen is constantly blowing up and my closer blowing saves. My team ERA is 4.22 so not a lost cause. I have been using Classic pitching exclusively and just very poor timing when they decide to give up a meatball nowhere near where the pitch is called for. I plan to change to Meter soon because it is getting really irritating.

I play at default the way it came out of the box except user options in case any wonder.

All in all I am in last place and 8 games back in mid May but no way can I start over. Maybe, Maybe if it was Football but 162 is way too many games if I want multiple seasons in my Franchise which I play every pitch of.

The game is enjoyable to me as always but at the moment very frustrating, I only play one game at a time and Always shut the machine down after a game even if I come back in a half hour for another go. I find this keeps me sane and allows me to have hope in each new game I play that we can win this one.

                          I

22-39 with Padres...6 game losing streak. I have to say this about my favorite game franchise: When the CPU decides it's going to win, there's nothing I can do about it.

I've had a bad habit in the past of starting over when things don't "feel right" - good or bad. Because of this, it's been years since I've played a whole season. So I forced myself to stick to it this year. Right now I'm 13-16 with the Braves. I think I lost six in a row at one point. I know I got swept by the Cardinals in a four-game series.

My biggest problem is driving in runs. It's made it easier seeing the real Braves have the same problem.

The way I figure it, if a team in Major League baseball has a bad week they can't start over, so why should I? I've been tempted plenty of times. In fact one of my worse temptations is doing in game saves with batters with low averages and keep starting that game over so I can get hits with them. I did this a lot last year, I press at the plate when a players numbers don't look right but I've never really got deep into a season because of this. I need to just play the season and whatever happens, happens.

Starting over is simply not an option this year. I did it this year only because I wanted to use Knights Roster Set. I won't be starting over again. I'm 4-12 right now and trying to battle my way back to .500. This game I'm currently playing looks good. I'm up 4-0 in the 5th and Jurrjens is throwing a 1 hitter. Hopefully I put this one away and get to 5-12 and go for the series win. I just need to focus on winning series at this point.

If I don't turn it around then too bad, I'll just have to deal with it and maybe become sellers at the deadline. The Braves lost 9 in a row last week, I'm sure they wanted to start over but they can't. They have to try and fight through their struggles.
