Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
LOL...the Pirates are the kings of LH starting pitchers in my franchise. They just made a deal sending over 2 prospects to the Rockies for Jeff Francis. The Pirates now have:
Zach Duke
Barry Zito
Scott Kazmir
Jeff Francis

I only play as one team and let the chips fall as they may.

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
not a trade, but newsworthy anyways.
At the beginning of June, Ramone Russell [C] got signed to a 2 year deal by the Giants, post draft and was sent to AAA.
hes rocking all F's in his scouting report expect for potential, which is a B.
The scouting report wasn't kind.
it said..
- he has less power then a Nevada Boxing commissioner.
- hasn't an ounce of ability at the plate
- even his family refers to him as 'king whiffer'
- a butcher in the field
hmmm
doesnt say much for the Catchers in San Fran's ML system lol
I hope Posey gets hurt and lets get Ramone to the BIGS!
Cinderella story!Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
Boston is offering SP John Lackey to the Marlins for SP Chris Volstad.
Thoughts?
Lackey is in year 1/5 and and Volstad is in a contract year. Volstad (an A rated player) might command high dollar, so I could see the Marlins trading him for an established pitcher. (Volstad isn't pitching all that well, and Lackey is higher rated, although with lower potential -B)Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
only makes sense if boston is trying to shed back on money for salary room to sign a big name in the off season. then again why would they even have money issues ? maybe because they can sign volstad to long contract for less money, and still get "lackey" production, or maybe they have a AAA pitcher moving up into starting rotation, which would also save them money.Boston is offering SP John Lackey to the Marlins for SP Chris Volstad.

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread**
I would go for it. Volstad may be better on the game some day, but Lackey will be great for you now and for 5 years. It depends of course on what Lackey's contract is. If it is higher than you would be able to re-sign Volstad at, well then it is you call. Ideally, I would play an exhibition game with Lackey to see if I could pitch well with him. Sometimes there are players that are rated very highly, yet are hard for certain people to pitch or hit with.Boston is offering SP John Lackey to the Marlins for SP Chris Volstad.
