    Outfielder Errors....?

I have played many games and I have yet to see an error by an outfielder, do they actually happen?

yep...had Ludwick and Holliday both drop flyballs in my last game vs the Reds.

I've only seen it twice since I got the game at launch, but outfielders are capable of dropping routine fly balls.

has anyone noticed sequence where outfielder gets there to his spot lines up for the ball looks like he gets there just in time for it and he looses the ball in the lights or something who knows but ball goes right by the the outfielder all the way back to the fence while outfielder just stands there. It gets scored a hit not a error. I have seen it twice in last week.

              it's very very rare

the only time my OF dropped a ball it was to complete a 5 run bottom of the 9th inning rally for the CPU...sigh

I've seen a couple dropped fly balls, but they were not ruled errors. None of the 162 games I played in my season plus 16 in the playoffs had an OF actually charged with a fielding error.

I actually hit a hard ground ball between SS and 3B.. the LFer bobbled it and they called the play an error without giving me a hit. Great

I cant believe on that first one, after the fly ball landed on the ground, it bounced and rolled all the way to the wall

I dont remember seeing a fly ball dropped at all in 08 and then last year I remember seeing it happen once. I was playing the White Sox and Jermaine Dye dropped a routine fly. I was so shocked I replayed it about 20 times. Obviously, since I can remember who exactly dropped the ball last in a game last year tells you it hardly ever happens. Ive not seen it all this year.

With all of that said, in real life, how many routine flys are dropped?? I dont think it happens enough in real life for Scea to add more of them in to the game.

I've played 100+ games (2 franchises combined) and have never seen an OF error. I haven't seen a dropped fly ball.

FWIW, I play with fielding errors at 6 (sliders) and throwing errors at 7, so I can get the right amount of errors per game statistically, and all the errors are by 3B, SS, and 2B regardless of fielder quality.

Outfield errors happen quite a bit (relative to total chances).

OF's drop fly balls, botch grounders (especially when charging), and make poor throws.

None of those are in the game.

I haven't seen a dropped fly ball, I haven't seen a grounder go through an OF, and I haven't seen an OF overthrow a base.

I have seen a base hit (grounder) bounce off an OF's glove, but not far away for the runner to advance, so no error was required.
