Re: Outfielder Errors....?
Just because you personally haven't seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: Outfielder Errors....?
This just happened last night, begging Matt to ponder "What the Canseco is going on?":

And go figure, no error on the play, and my FLD% sits at 1.000.Comment

Re: Outfielder Errors....?
I've personally never seen one, in about 200 games. I do see them misplay liners and try to be a hero and turn a single into a double or triple. But even many of those they make miraculous catches. Thats my experience, if a flyball goes in the outfield it will be an out, every time so far. But obviously it does happen sometime, given the replies above, I just haven't seen it.Comment

Re: Outfielder Errors....?
On the last video, Rajai Davis did almost the exact same thing in real life, almost making a catch and having the ball pop out and over the fence. Of course the A's announcers were quick to mention Canseco LMAOComment

Re: Outfielder Errors....?
I originally posted the following in the latest patch thread, but it might be better suited for this thread:
"Anyone else seeing errors scored incorrectly since the patch? Just played my first post-patch game using the Braves and McClouth bobbled and dropped a ball hit by Doumit with 2 outs and a runner on 2nd and it wasn't scored as an error. The announcers even commented on the dropped ball referring to it as an error. In the boxscore, Doumit was credited with an RBI but wasn't given a hit. In the 5th inning, Hanson threw the ball by Prado on a pickoff attempt and it wasn't scored an error. Maybe it's coincedence, but prior to this patch, I had yet to see an error scored incorrectly. Anyone else seeing this?
Edit: Just moved on to the next game against Florida and in the 1st inning, Ramirez hit a grounder to Prado who overthrew Glaus at 1st. The play was scored as a single and Ramirez was nowhere near 1st base when the ball sailed over Glaus' head. What the heck is going on here?"Comment

Re: Outfielder Errors....?
I can tell you are not an A's fan. I have seen Jack Cust drop more fly balls in the last three years than I have seen all other outfielders in the last 30 years.

Re: Outfielder Errors....?
I had Michael Bourn misplay a ball while trying to pick it up as it rolled towards him.
I play with the ball location icons off, but I keep the region indicator on so I misplay a lot of fly balls. I'm actually thinking of just going to auto-fielding after seeing the thread where people were suggesting it.Comment

Re: Outfielder Errors....?
YES, i agree... i am also seeing a problem developing...prado already has 5 errors, escobar 3 and chipper 2...and no one else has an error. Realistically prado should end up w/ about 5 for the ENTIRE season, and i have only played 12 games...i'm gonna have to back off the error sliders, right now both are at 7.Comment

Re: Outfielder Errors....?
I just had Daric Barton, playing 2nd base, drop an easy pop up. At first I was glad to see it finally, then I was thinking that it shouldn't matter if he is not a 2nd baseman as he should still be able to make popups, but then I remember it was Barton and I watched him drop three foul ball popups in one game, two were back to back lmao.
I agree with the above poster. Mark Ellis had more fielding errors in my first season than he had in five years combined. My SS, while not a stud defender, had 22 errors on the season. Two of my outfielders didn't have any all year and ended up winning gold gloves.Comment

Re: Outfielder Errors....?
Ask my brother if outfielders make errors in this game lol. My brother has played about 15 to 16 games so far and he has already experienced his outfielders misplay a ball 3 times and let it drop, they have bobbled hits, etc."Ma'am I don't make the rules up. I just think them up and write em down". - Cartman
