None at all. You can hit A Rod every time he is up and you'll never have a Yankees pitcher even throw one high and tight at you, much less hit you on purpose.

I've never seen this! What type of presentation style were you in, OP? Broadcast, real-time, fast play...?

I was playing as the Rockies, full control. Broadcast views for everything. I didn't know it was part of the game as I had never seen it in previious versions. Was pretty cool.

I wonder if this is just because you went high and tight against the opposing pitcher or if it can happen with just any regular batters???

It can happen with any batter. If you hit a few batters in a row, you'll see the batter charge the mound. But it varies. Sometimes it happens after three batters, some after four. One thing that bothers me is that there is no logic to pitchers being ejected. I can hit six guys in a row (I did that once) before getting tossed.

On a side note, a prior poster mentioned the "brawls" in MVP '05. I believe the reason that The Show doesn't have it is because the MLBPA will not allow it.

I believe you are right about the MLBPA not allowing it but MVP 05 didnt really show a brwal. Just had a cutscene of the benched clearing. Its similar to what the Show does. It shows the player charging the mound and thats it. I prefer the way MVP portrayed it. It also gave the player the option to charge the mound.

This happened to me once when my relief pitcher hit 3 batters, there was the shoving match then the charge to the mound. My pitcher was tossed LOL.

I haven't seen this in The Show before but I too liked the MVP approach. Also, in reference to retaliation, that's too bad. For as much as I love The Show, I did like this aspect of 2k. If I hit a star player, even accidentally, I pretty much knew that I was getting hit in return. It might have been a little overdone because it was just about EVERY time I hit someone but still kinda cool. If it's not in The Show this year, it would definitely be great to have in the future.

For everything else that The Show does MUCH better, I'll take not having this in though!

It's really not that cool. The batter stands in the box while the catcher tries to hold him back. The batter takes 1 or 2 steps towards the pitcher and then it cuts to the bullpen window and makes you bring in someone else. Not only that, but I have had several games freeze after my pitcher was tossed. I tried to bring someone else in, but it froze on the bullpen screen.
