I once had O'Day strike out the side on 9 straight pitches out of the zone. I hate that guy. I am thinking about signing him in the off season just so I never have to face him again. Same for Rowland-Smith

Uh-oh, is Rowland-Smith another one like O'Day? Another sidearm/submarine headache? As for swinging at pitches out of the zone against O'Day, you are not alone. The guy made me look so foolish I was embarrassed. Good thing no one was watching.

With all these Verlander votes...I'm glad I play as the Tigers and don't have to face him. His stuff is filthy though. Imagine real life. I can't even comprehend. Facing a 99+ mph heater then a 75 mph bender...I'd break both of my ankles just trying.

Gonna have to go with Ben Sheets. I CANNOT get to that guy. He completely shut me down both times I have faced him in my season.

I tend to struggle against Pitchers that are "Effectively Wild". I hit the Ace Pitchers like Roy Halladay and Josh Johnson pretty hard since they throw a lot of strikes, but when it comes to the average Joe Smo I have problems for some reason lol. The pitchers that throw the ball all over the place, and have a lack of control are the ones I have a tougher time hitting.

Im the same way with a good amount of the aces...obviously not Josh Johnson though because he's the guy that made me start this thread, but I know what you are saying. A lot of the aces throw a lot of strikes and with the way I hack I can get to them.

I have a lot of trouble with lefties who throw slow too and nibble like Randy Wolf. His piches look so hittable coming in that I just lunge at everything trying to kill the ball. He nibbles the corners and I go down easy.

I don't remember which, either Grant Balfour or Dan Wheeler, came in the 9th inning for Rays against me after I was pounding the Rays, and I struck out three straight times, all off the changeup. Whichever one it was, they sure had their change dropping off the table.

Yeah ill put a vote in for Oswalt as well. Throwing 94 then dropping a 72 mph 12-6 that breaks half the strike zone is sick. I played them the other day and he threw 9 innings of one run ball before Berkman walked off against me in the 11th

Oswalt here as well. My rtts player is a career .324 hitter, but only 1 for 15 against Oswalt. I know I shouldn't swing at his slider, but it just looks so good right before it breaks to the right on me. Lester's given me trouble as well, with 10 k's in my 33 AB's.

Is that found in the game or do you keep track of that? I thought i heard it was in the game when it was coming out, but have only career vs. team.

During a game, if you hit select, it'll show your career totals against all the pitchers on the team you're facing. Sadly, there's no way to check these stats between games. Ah, maybe next year...

Pitchers with a running fastball instead of a 4-seamer for the X pitch give me trouble. Justin Verlander and Jake Peavy are some that pop up and Brett Myers and Vicente Padilla are tough, I only play against the NL during interleague but Brett Myers ended up in the Mariners which are division rivals and I hate hitting against this guy.

A lot of fictional players from drafts and the minors have that in their repertoire. I know the movement is different but it would bug me to pitch with a guy that has these two on their repertoire.

Yes, there are quite a few players in the minors with both FB and RFB. I've also noticed quite a few pitchers with Screwballs, Knuckleballs, and Forkballs. Thinking of those pitchers coming up in my franchise makes me think I should have played Season Mode.
