Re: Cannot Hit for my life
I have been shutout in each of my last 3 games. Still trying to get used to this. So should i just use contact swing...because i have been using mostly the power swing.Comment

Re: Cannot Hit for my life
Contact swing for the time being. You should only power swing if a powerful player is up and you are confident that you have a perfect swing because if not done correctly you will pop up frequently.Favorite teams:
MLB- Oakland Athletics
NFL- Tampa Bay BuccaneersComment

Keep working the count!!!
Most pitchers will definitely fall into a pattern and can be torn apart once figured out.Comment

I think the bigger problem with hitting is the camera angle! This is such a great game but it is almost impossible to judge low balls in this game. I really hope they add some custom cameras for next year.Comment

Whoever recommended power swing to you should be disregarded. Not as a poster, but for the post. The power swing has an "all or nothing" feel to it as you sacrifice good contact probability for extra effort on your swing. This doesn't mean you'll hit more home runs (unless you put solid contact on it, there's a chance), and in fact it may reduce your overall production numbers.
Stick with the contact swing, forever and for always. If for whatever reason you feel compelled to use the power swing, go ahead. But remember that you can't check your swing using power.
Would you mind ever posting screencaps of your post-game batting analysis? Basically, find that pitching analysis screen and set it for all pitchers from the opposing team, and take a screencap of that. I want to see what kinds of pitches you're getting and what you're swinging at versus what you're laying off, and how many pitches in a game you're seeing.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I will do that after I play a game tonight.Comment

Re: Cannot Hit for my life
I played a game tonight and i got some hits, still cannot get any runs scored but most of my hits have either been line drives that are caught or they are ground balls up the middle. I am not using the L-stick...i am simply just using contact swing. Should i be using the L-stick because i just cannot seem to get good hits.Comment

Re: Cannot Hit for my life
yeah the 'contact' swing should be considered the 'default' everyday/normal swing and the power is that bit of extra... i think it's less than even 10% more power... it so by far does not guarantee a HR or warning track shot just by using it. you must still accurately time your swing to the ball. i've hit balls solidly w/ the power swing and still make an out. Only one time I was behind in a game and was in a hitter's count w/ AROD and I chose the power hit and it was a shot to left center for a HR. I use the power swing from 0 to 3 swings in an entire game.Whoever recommended power swing to you should be disregarded. Not as a poster, but for the post. Unless you are hitting on rookie, you kind of have to use the L stick. Timing is great, but without using the L stick you won't have gotten solid contact on anything but pitches right down the middle on any difficulty higher than Rookie.Comment
