The OP is right. There are quite a few things that tip you off. I haven't heard a strike yet when I hear "swing." Not that i listen but I was playing against the Giants and this lady was saying it over and over and was wondering if it was glitching. Needless to say, the pitcher walked me 7 times when I realized this. And yes, you cant practice swing if its a pitchout or intentional walk.

Sorry, he's inferring it's "no coincidence", his own words.

because you said it just happened to you in that one game. if you've just noticed it, then your sample size starts from here on out.

Also, my person doubts are found in your own stat:
"It's gotta be close to 95% from what I've seen. "

That leaves 5 percent room for your finding to be wrong.

Play more games and see. Maybe you're right and we'd all like to know.

With all the bugs and glitches from this year's version, it wouldn't surprise me at all if this was true. I don't think they purposely did it, but it could have been done by mistake.

            This seems plausible

what about the guy that says "Let's get something going here" when computer is at the plate does that mean you should throw a ball or other wise it is going to be a hit?

I've come across fans yelling "swing" at Fenway. Then again I was playing online as the Yanks, so I figured they were just yelling that stuff to mess my hitters up and break my concentration.

Yeah. Sounds similar to quirk where you have a runner at first and can't practice swing. You know that it is a pitchout.

Played 5 games in the last 2 days. I have been tracking this. I have heard "swing" 4 times. All 4 were balls. I've heard strike 7 times. 6 out of 7 were strikes, with one of them being a "strike" but called a ball by the umpire. I am pretty sure this is a real thing here. I am not making it up, and plenty of others have noticed it as well. Could it just be insane luck?

                          Whatever the default is.

Well I played 3 more games and everything went as I have said it did, except for ONE time. That one time was terrible timing. I had bases loaded, 2 outs and a full count with my best hitter (Morneau) I heard the girl say "strike" before the pitch was thrown, so I influenced up and got ready to power swing. The pitch came and I timed it perfectly, but it was a slider running in on me and it was a BALL. I missed it badly. I still think my 95% theory is correct, though. What a bad time for it to bite me in the ***, though.

Well if it was programmed in, it would either happen 100% of the time or not at all

It doesn't have to be all or none. It's an equation where the results are what I've seen a LOT more than the contrary. I can't believe no one else is seeing this. Turn the volume up next time you play and listen to the crowd, then write your results down and come back to this thread.

I'm not sure gamers are really that interested in this, maybe I'm wrong. If you have found something that tips you off, let's you "cheat" (and I don't mean that in a derogatory sense), then fine, but not sure what you're really getting at. If it's 95% for you, okay. Not sure most gamers want to take advantage of something like this though, or use this as a deciding factor whether or not they want to swing or take a pitch.

I think you've made your point. If it's a bug/glitch, then it belongs there, otherwise...dunno.
