Any error, results in an unearned run! It does not matter if it happens to reach base or during their running of bases. If there's two outs and a player makes a throwing or fielding error, all runs are unearned. If a player makes an error with 1 out, and the team gets the 2nd out, all runs are unearned from there on. Your run should not have been earned, it should've been unearned. Because, you made an error that lead to a base, however, you walked the next man so it didn't matter. You got the 2nd out, so...without the error, you assume there's 3 outs...this is the rule, I think I would know because I have played D1 baseball for 3 years and am in my 4th.
Should this have been an earned run?

Re: Should this have been an earned run?

 Authentic, thanks for chiming in.

Just to clarify, the error occured as well as the run scoring, with ONE out.

Out, walk, error advancing runner to third, walk, walk (forcing in run), out, out.

Does this apply to what you just said?Comment

Re: Should this have been an earned run?

Hmmm, I said it a bit different, but still, any player who is on base or stays on base or advances any base via error is an unearned run.Comment
