I always eagerly follow the offseason, as I generally like to use teams that make big offseason moves. If the Angels land Carl Crawford, I'll be tempted to use them. If the Royals trade Greinke, I may be tempted to use the team that winds up with him. What about you guys, anyone already mapping out which team they'll use in '11?

Anyone already thinking about what team to use in next year's game?
This obviously only applies to people that don't use the same team every year. As a Yankees fan, I only use them every few years, as I can never get a good enough challenge with them to keep my interest. So each year I try to find a team to give me a fresh experience. I mostly used the Cardinals this year, as I love their stadium and was excited to have Holliday and Pujols in the same lineup.

Re: Anyone already thinking about what team to use in next year's game?
Rays for me, prior to 1998-1999 it was the Mariners (Griffey years, lol) but when i saw the Devil Rays first icon (the devil ray with gold, purple and green highlights in the outline) i jumped ship and was a Devil Rays/Rays fan since 1998. I got really excited last year because Peter Gammons (i think) was talking about where the Rays might relocate to if plans fall through for a stadium in FL. He gave 2 solutions: NJ or Southern CT. While severely unlikely, this got me ecstatic enough to drive me back into baseball, I hadn't paid much attention to it since 2001, didn't even know my team made it to the World Series in 2008.Comment

Re: Anyone already thinking about what team to use in next year's game?
It usually takes me a while to figure out what team I want to run a franchise with. When I get the the show I probably start over twice before I find a team of interest. I might use a team like the cubs and try to take them out of their misery. I would have to say I haven't thought about what team I'm going to use for next year yet.The Positive Sports Podcast~~~Tough Times Don't Last, Tough People Do~~~Ignore The Negativity, Be The PositivityComment

Like always i'll be runnin with my Braves. I'll be excited for next year, we'll have Heyward and Freeman made into the game rather than created, and it always exciting to see what we'll end up with once the off season is over.PSN: OverPar8Comment

Re: Anyone already thinking about what team to use in next year's game?
well i always play as the A's, but over the past several days ive been contimplating adopting a NL team to follow starting in 11'. that team is the Pittsburgh Pirates. i know, i know, why would i choose the Pirates? well, ive always kinda liked them ever since their early 90's high times. also they seem to have a decent core nucleus of pslayers that if they can just get the right coach or whatever in there they can do some damage.
hey no one ever expected the Rockies, or the Rays to be in a world series right? lol well someone has to have the little teams back and i guess that would be me. so if i do get my new ps3 before the season begins i will be running both A's and Pirates franchises."Baseball is life, without Baseball life itself ceases to exist." - Ken SpragueComment

Re: Anyone already thinking about what team to use in next year's game?
I always play as the Red Sox every year.
But funny thing is, I am mainly a RTTS player, and always like to be starting my career with the Marlins. For some reason I am drawn to them in that regards.
Also contemplated flirting with the Marlins in franchise/season.
I think I am just going to use them for 11'. I am a die hard Sawx fan, but for some reason I like playing with the Marlins and seeing all the nice National League parks. Also their young pitching can be great, but can also keep you on your toes, and they have some pop, but mostly a small ball type team. Just a whole different strategy using them.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: Anyone already thinking about what team to use in next year's game?
I seem to be on a 2-year cycle with The Show. Played 08, skipped 09, playing 10. Only b/c it takes me so long to complete a full season (no simming). Therefore, I'll probably be getting MLB 12 the Show, and not 11.Currently playing:
MLB 21 The Show
College Hoops 2K8
Pro Evolution Soccer 2018
NHL 19
NCAA Football 14/11
NBA 2K16
Madden 20Comment

Ya, same here. It takes forever, especially when I'm doing a dynasty online. But I think I'm getting '11 and skipping '12 because '11 might be better and more interesting. Now playing
MLB 11: The Show
NBA 2K11

Re: Anyone already thinking about what team to use in next year's game?
ive been the yankees since 08. They are my fav team in the MLB but it just gets boring at times cause of all the game u play against teams in ur own division. Its a lil too much. So im not that sure yet. I might stick with the AL but just pick a different team or just go with a team in the NL.Comment

Re: Anyone already thinking about what team to use in next year's game?
I like to try new teams because of how I can maybe rebuild them a little and the division they play in. I like to alternate leagues. I was the Mets in 08, Whitesox in 09, this year I did one with the Reds, and now I got one going with the A's. I'm thinking about Cubs or Padres for next year. I'm leaning more towards Cubs. The Positive Sports Podcast~~~Tough Times Don't Last, Tough People Do~~~Ignore The Negativity, Be The PositivityComment
