Meh. The graphics were just as good last year. Give me a major upgrade in the computer GM's AI logic. Or add some cool new features to make Road to the Show seem more vibrant. Otherwise I can't see buying this again. I'm more than happy with the last few versions, and honestly 2010 was virtually the same as 2009 except for some extra eye candy. -

I don't think it's fair to say that. Granted my opinion on a major change is different than everyone else opinion. For me, a big change is a ground breaking feature or game play enhancement. In my opinion, this year doesn't bring that to the table. The analogue controls have been incorporated first back 5 years ago. The same could be said about real time progression, which was incorporated by 2k two years ago. I would easily agree with the argument over whether the game is getting stale. It is. The "if it ain't broke, don't fix it mentality" is stupid in my opinion. Why buy virtually the same game every year for full price? I kind of wish the show would take a different approach to each year. For example, if mlb the show '13 changed way too much for you liking, then you can go back to the show '10.Comment

this whole thing about "why buy the game at full price if *little* has changed" argument is always brought up with games that have most things going well for them early on.
if you ask the Madden fans, let alone NFL fans..if they can have a game of MLB The Show's quality with improvements every year....I have a pretty good feeling they would be ALL for it.
would some of you prefer if they released a game that was not as advanced with few to no features next generation...then slowly improve it....basically setting gamers expectations low, and then pleasantly feeding them just enough every new year while leaving obvious problems with the game untouched.....only to fix them the next year, but only to have a new set of problems a rising?
I buy this game at full price because I want to support the devs....does that mean everyone else has to? no....but if you appreciate the series and want to see it continue (as well as expand) then I would hope you would help the cause as well.
and what does this mean?

this is a Baseball game....a Licensed MLB game....how drastically can you change this type of game?.....they have added a new control style for the series, and maybe experimenting with a new one as well. (Move controls in HR derby)...and they will always try to improve how it looks and sounds...I mean what else drastically can they add? I'm sure they would like to know, and wouldn't mind some ideas to stuff they might not already have brewing themselves.
There is obviously no way to please everyone but SCEA gets closer to that than anyone else does, imo. Some people will never be pleased though, Madden has made strides over the last couple years but people will always complain about that series as well. I hear comments like "just give me NFL 2k5 with HD graphics and that's all I need". Give me a break, the nostalgia between that game and MVP '05' is sickening. I loved both of those games when they were released and even for a few years after the fact but "The Show" and Madden are definitely more engaging games especially with their latest efforts and the realism is far superior. The Show especially blows MVP '05's homerun arcade fest out of the water in every aspect but still somehow manages to get compared to it. And YES I have the modded PC version before anyone steps in with that nonsense.
As long as The Show keeps improving and adding as they do every year they will have a fan out of me for life.
Sorry about getting off topic on that second paragraph but it is one of the most frustrating things to hear on these forums.
Seriously, March can not get here soon enough...or more info for that matterComment

Afrikan...here and in the MOVE(for the entire game question)..you are RIGHT on.
Little has changed in baseball for over 100 years.
IMO the Show is a tremendous baseball game. They constantly improve the title AND on top of that add and fix things the WE bring up!
Where else do you get that?!(with the amount done and the interaction especially.)
I just don't get the "not enough done" posts.
IMO...they make little or no sense in this case.

- for me, analog controls was the only reason I bought the 2k game. I like playing with the analog controls and to me, this is a first day buy type of addition. For everyone that says there are not enough features for them this year, there is another person who says "this years game is going to force me to buy a ps3. That's where I was when 09 came out. The realism is going to be tweaked again and it will feel new just like they do every year... I have no problem whatsoever putting my 60 bucks worth of faith into this dev. Team. Can't wait for more info! I'm sure scea still has some stuff under their sleeves.Comment

Agreed with the both of you. The feature set for this year's game is as big of a leap, if not bigger than it was for '08 to '09. People are just not looking at things with both eyes open.
But there will always be those people.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Screenshots (3 More)
there's plenty for SCEA to improve on. i dunno if their budget is the same as say the Japanese maker for ProYaku Sports, but if you use them as an example out there... suffice to say, a deeper game does already exist in simulating baseball.
the most nagging thing about the show would be to me, certain facets of the game that needed to be overhauled 1,2 versions ago but are allowed to carry over... and amount of bugs, (some of which are carry overs too).Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Screenshots (3 More)
I'm not going to say this series is perfect because it isn't, and this is actually a good thing because every year that somebody says it is perfect, they deliver with something that the fans never thought could be delivered. In short, the best keeps getting better. This is almost why I like to point out what could be improved on, because there's no need to settle for one thing when you know you can have something else.
That being said, this is the most accurate representation of baseball out there and it is a die-hard baseball fan's wet dream. SCEA knows what they're doing over there in San Diego, and when they need assurance we are their rebound. And I love nitpicking as much as the next guy, but sometimes you just have to sit back and let the drool out of your mouth do the talking. The Show '11 looks to be a huge jump, probably the biggest that we have ever seen. I already have an outlook toward what can be improved on for '12, but until then I will very much enjoy what we are getting this year.
