Not sure about this generation (I don't think it's been available for a while), but on the last gen ones, you could choose the pattern in franchise mode at least (it was somewhere in the owner options to fix up your field).Originally posted by Sco291Im not sure we had the options to choose them though. Like spiral, checkered, star, straight lines, etc.
I could be totally wrong but i didn't remember seeing that in '10.
Another nice little detail from older Shows:I believe the billboard adds you chose would also actually show up in the stadium in their respective spots (scoreboard, etc).Comment

Would someone be able to tell me if Sounds of the Show will stick to every roster this year?Comment

This would be amazingly huge in the roster process, I'm sure Knight would agree. The more options a user has the better in most cases...It would help immensly with both current MLB players to play more realistic (such as Brian McCann & Ryan Howard having hot zones on the inside part thus having dramatic IF shifts) and with drafted players or "MiLB" players to tune the zones to be accurate instead of all zones being cold. Will true zone charts from player profiles now be available during a game (as shown below?) It seems these would be much more usefull as a scouting tool with the new analog batting where the CPU assists on the height of swings.

This particular batter is a lefty and the red colors are very bright middle/in (vs RHP's) which basically means you need to avoid pitching in those zones at all costs. Now look at his hot zones versus LHP's; the red zones are very dark which means they're not much to be concerned about.
The charts diplayed by hitting 'select' during a game (shown below) dont tell this story because the color brightness does not vary. For example his low middle zone shows "cold" but it's really neutral according to the chart above. Same goes with his high outside, outside middle and high inside zones, he's only slightly below avg in those areas. The best spot to pitch this batter is low & inside with low & outside a close second.
The chart below is a decent overall guide but it doesn't display true strengths/weaknesses.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Community Day Discussion Thread - Questions, Answers etc.
I could be wrong but I have a good feeling that we are going to see a huge presentation make over for MLB 12 The Show.
Maybe a presentation that really feels like a real TV broadcast with a "MLB Network" style Highlight show updating you on all the games around the league with scoring updates and news. And previews of upcoming games. for the week ahaed.
There is no end to what could be done with a real TV broadcast presentation in MLB The Show!!Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Community Day Discussion Thread - Questions, Answers etc.
I noticed Runs in RTTS are worth 5 points. Nothing wrong with that of course, but many baseball experts and statisticians argue that scoring runs and RBI are two of the most important stats in the game.
Over the last couple of years, I've wondered why the devs give such low points for scoring runs. If you see the screenshots from earlier in this thread, the RTTS player received roughly 4-5 points per putout. Not saying putouts aren't important, but they are fairly routine in the scheme of a game...where runs are precious. Just my 2 cents.
This coincides with my wondering why Runs are left off of some of the game's stat screens/overlays/stadium screens. No biggie, just something I'm interested in.Comment

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone on the Show team and members at the Community Day event. This is great information and screens being supplied.

Below is the type of customize-able fielding cam that would be nice. Doesn't have to be "alive"...could be static for those like me who play with auto-fielding or manager-only types:
