Re: MLB 11 The Show Community Day Discussion Thread - Questions, Answers etc.

First off, thanks to all you guys at the event for the constant stream of info and putting up with our questions and demands.

    I've got two more questions.

    1. Any word on online that can be shared (I know they have to save some stuff for the blogs, etc)? Features or improvements (co-op aside, of course)?

    2. This is a retread (and I apologize for my persistence/harassment) but, Collision detection? I know they've said full on collision detection probably isn't in the cards, but has anything been done to continue to tune related animations (like tags at second, etc)?

    Thanks again guys.

        1. The only thing that we've heard about online is that it actually transmits less data than last year. We can't test online play here, so there's not much to work with.

        2. I think the animations are much better across the board, but there's still some collision weirdness. Of course, the code we're playing isn't final, but I am seeing a lot more in the animation that shows an effort for the players to try and avoid each other.

Anyway can we see some pics of the RF scoreboard, the Hilton Hotel in LTCF and the Zenith Apt building behind the LF stands?

Do we know if they fixed the LED board placement and added the retired numbers to the upper deck in LF?

              Thanks!

                            Few RTTS ?s....
                            1. First in regards to the sliders for creating your player i.e. power vs. speed slider, how exactly does this work.....does it mean the more you tweak this the higher/lower your starting rating is in each category or does it work as a cap method where a fully slidered player to the power side is capped say at a max of 80 speed or something for his career.

                            2. Also now that they have rehauled the points you earn per game based on each at bat and not the goals like "take a strike" does that mean that all of the coaching signs interactions has been removed? Will my coach no longer ask me to do a hit and run? (side note to the hit and run if it's still in are you still only asked to do a HnR on 0-0 counts?) Do they still ask you to drop a sac. bunt in a key spot on occasion? I read earlier that a coach will still ask you to steal but you won't get hurt for not so I know the answer on the steal sign aspect.

                            3. And lastly since it seems that you were saying with the new point earning system that it is a lot easier to earn points since you rarely get negative points anymore, is this balanced by making it more expensive to improve or is it going to make getting your attributes up much faster?

Just wanted to address something someone posted a few pages back. They commented on how last year, Braves fans were always begging and complaining for info, and that someone this year was doing something similar. Grow up. We just do what any other team's fans do on this forum, it's just that there's more of us then say, Reds fans, etc. The Braves are the third most popular baseball team in the country, behind the Yankees and Red Sox, and look at all the requests for those teams over the years on this forums. There's no reason to get mad over one fan's affinity for things surrounding and involving their team.
