Re: MLB '11: The Show Community Day Gameplay Q&A
I almost dont see this as an issue...stop backing up...if youre gonna give a guy a base hit from an easy bunt by removing your player from a decent fielding position it should happen..now I know maybe it can be toned down but youre trying to cheese the batter by moving out of position and not have a consequence which is equally wrong IMOComment

Re: MLB '11: The Show Community Day Gameplay Q&A
Does anyone know the answer to my PREGAME sound question ??
Here's another one...Will the catcher sweep tag animations be quicker this year, last year it seemed like the bang bang play animations suffered slowdown
Will offline throws now go up the third base sideComment

Tags seemed a little better but this area of the game still needs attention imo. On plays from left field to home I saw some offline throws go up third. With the analog throwing in general you are going to get a lot of different offline throws you have never seen before.
I'm happy to hear about the improvements made to offline throws, hopefully they happen on throws from right & center field tooLast edited by DodgerFanatic2K3; 01-14-2011, 04:59 PM.Comment

mentioned it before but in RTTS and maybe other modes as a catcher you get stuck on home plate and miss easy plays and drop balls...you have to consciously avoid touching home plate to make the play...is this fixed or can it be so we dont miss routine plays..im sure it happens else where with other positions too...

Re: MLB '11: The Show Community Day Gameplay Q&A
I have a simple question and I would really appreciate anyone who could answer it for me. Have they improved the diving in the field, the fielder seems to dive and come to an abrupt halt like he is diving on a carpet or something. They should be sliding atleast a few feet after their dive. Thanks.Comment

Can someone please clarify what PREGAME exactly is for Sounds of the Show ??
I'm under the impression that it's the music that plays when they first go on the air and show the "coming up next" graphic and starting lineups while others say it the music that plays when they show the starting pitcher warming up later ??
It is the starting music that plays The Show one. So now you can replace it with the Fox song or ESPN.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Is the Homerun Derby available online? If not do you think that is something they would add?

Re: MLB '11: The Show Community Day Gameplay Q&A
Because in 10 during Play Now games u saw a bunch of cool overlays on batter walk ups.
Like top five in HRs [which they obviously based off real 09 stats], and all that but they never appeared in Franny.Comment

Analog throwing is extremely challenging! As a matter of fact I tried legend throwing and made 8 errors in two innings, lol. On that level you basically have a 1 or 2 degree variance from a perfect throw to a not so perfect throw. If anyone says they can find a challenging level with throwing they are full of it. Momentum is a strong factor with fielding this year as you cannot correct yourself on the dime now like last year. If you momentum is taking you away from the play it will be reflective in your throw.
Ratings are going to be a big factor on what your players can and can't do. Not all players will have the same portfolio of animations so to speak available to them based on their rating. Diving catches are still very challenging in the outfield but when you do pull them off they are very nice. The cpu will not initiate dives for you like last year so that has been toned done. Did not see the CPU diving a lot either. As far as diving catches in the infield some were deflected, missed or caught but did not see any smothered.
Did not see too many barehanded turns when we played but there were some newer turns that I had not seen before.
I went so far as to literally put fielding on auto because of the loss of control/disconnect i feel when doing in manually.
This is manna from heaven hearing this and might even sway me to roll with 11 even tho I am building a winner in the Nations Capitial in 10!
In any event, you might have singlehandedly caused me to purchase 11 [Hinging now on the stat overlays].

They are trying to tie in(this WAS NOT in yet....so we'll see) the previous year's avg/hr/rbi totals to the first games walkup instead of the ht/wt/age...
The splits(it was alternating between HOME/AWAY and vsLHP/vsRHP were showing up in franchise games.

Also, this might and probably has been answered, but searching came up fruitless.
Using analog batting, do you see a wider variety of hit types?Comment

cards....
Trust me...you don't get more franchise oriented than myself....and while there were no real specific franchise additions(really meaning GM/front office things...like NRI's....the draft and such)....there are quite a few things that will indirectly effect change to franchise in a pretty big way.
Right off the top....Brian has changed the MR logic and therefor the bullpen logic. The new fielding ratings will effect franchise in regards to personnel decisions....
They are working on the trade logic and the training in regards to how it effects team decisions with re-signing players and signing FA's...so there is some under the hood stuff being looked at.(I just want it noted that it is crunch time and Kolbe, Jeff and crew are breaking this down as we speak....and may or may not be able to effect the changes in release. I just don't want guys to think it IS changed.....and a definite to be in. This is a complex issue and Kolbe and Jeff are aware and will do what they can)...
But just from playing a bit at the event...you can see that franchise has changed in peripheral ways that make a pretty big difference.

Wait...bad example.
Anyways, those things u mentioned, the under the hood tweaks will go a long way to making the franny already in place, more enjoyable. Tho in 10 i am numb to them all by now.
