I love all these financial responsibility sermons that these types of threads bring. When most people have 2 or 3 habits that would easily exceed the $50 and don't think twice about.

The controller is the same price as a regular controller except its cooler
I bought a PS3 for 599.99 so it wont bother me to spend a normal price on controller. Dont know what their overhead is but im sure 20.00 is a tad to cheap for them to sell them for.
So if someone has the $ and they want to grab it up they arent nuts, but rather getting something they want.

To me it is nuts lol. It's not just controllers, most everything folks buy is overpriced. I waste money on things I probably dont need all the time, but I sure dont go out buying the exact same product over and over if I have one at home that works just as well. Who needs 5 controllers lol that is just overkill. To each his own though.

I broke down and needed a new controller anyway. Still using the original that came with my PS3 from 2008.

That's what I was thinking too... I already have six dualshock 3's including an original white one I imported from Japan.

That said, I'm 85% sure I'll be picking this up anyway. LOL, hey baseball is about the nostalgia right? :-D

EDIT: to add to the DLC debate - I don't think you can really compare the two, as you are comparing digital media to an actual piece of hardware. The DLC debate is even more touchy on the PS3, because with bluray it would most likely fit on the disc.

I gotta admit, it's pretty damn cool. The worst part is, is that I don't even need it, I just like what it looks like. I have to be the most immature 32-year-old on the planet...lol.

After reading people's opinions on other sites, I thought I was the only one willing to drop this much money on a controller I don't need, just because it looks cool...

Thankfully, I can see now, that I am not. lol
