Nope didnt mean that. And its all good. I was just pointing out why i support the game.
            In any case...meant nothing personal

Mainly knowing how Madden sold tons each year despite never giving the gamers what they want, and instead acting as if they knew better about what we wanted. Holier than though attitudes and run away if i dont like the critism strategy.
And here we have a crew that goes well above whats expected and will make changes on the fly based on input from gamers.
Yea I agree with what you are saying. This dev. team doesn't get enough recognition because every single year they add things that we, the community, ask for. They listen and implement our ideas. For this reason, I can see why you are passionate (at times like you said ). But, the show series has been one of the few games that has stepped up its game in the next gen console.

Nonetheless, I am going to bite the bullet and try it out instead of gift it like knight said lol. If I like it, I'll just get him a $40 gift card or something.

Having a one-year old with another on the way, I don't have $60 to to spend on a product that will play substantially the same for me, even though I would love to have the graphical upgrades. With franchise rumored to be getting worked over for 2012, I feel like I'll be better off waiting until then to upgrade.
                bingo.
i was flip flopping on getting 11 just because of the fielding changes, but i am having a fun run in 10 in my Nats [worst to first] franny, so I am just about ready to call it a day and just continue to put in my efforts on 10.

for me, 60 bucks needs to give me more franchise [overhauls to the UI among other things. MLB Headlines. Its BRUTAL trying to gather info from around the league. someone threw a no-no? Good luck hearing about it], and better tv presentation.
its not there, so I can't justify spending 60.
I just dont see how people are expected to buy the gae every year.
When did that become mandatory, lest we be maligned for not supporting Sony.
I dont owe em anything, I bought NBA The Inside!

The changes that were made are awesome and i cant wait to see what 12 brings with another year of tweaks to those elements as well as a new franchise experience.
but for the people crying foul, send me 60 clams, if u wanna support sony, i'll be sure to use it on a copy.
for me, I aint Rockerfeller and Chien Ming wang is pitching like Bob Feller.

I play OOTP11 sometimes to satisfy my stats appetite, mostly on my laptop when on the road. But I'll be honest with you, as soon as I'm back home, forget the numbers I want the real immersive experience and I jump in MLB10 as soon as I can. MLB11 with the new players model, updated stadiums, mix match uniforms is a no brainer for me.

You can not overhaul a franchise mode every year.

I don't get it. The mode is still one of the deepest in the gaming world, and with much improved budgets and trade logic it is even better. Not to mention the countless of other upgrades. The gameplay in general, it is a whole new game.

I will say, '10 was great, but inferior in almost all accounts to '11.

(better models, better lighting, better stadiums with unique jumbotrons, better ball physics, better fielding by far, better rtts, better sports ticker, better online, better league structures, player vault, fantastic analog controls, better stts features, better trade logic and budgets which was the main franchise complaint overall, better osd menu layout, better addition to the commentary team, overall much better game, and that is just a few things mentioned)

I guess some are not hardcore into baseball games enough, yet they expect hardcore changes to a single mode which can not warrant it every year. No game will. This game spins all year round for me, and sometimes I feel I waste my $60 on other games that sit on the shelf cause of this one. So much so, a game would have to be like G-d of War, Killzone or Uncharted type to get it day one, since this game takes up 90% of my gaming time.

There is no way I could play '10 since the CE. Not after playing '11. The game is too much of an upgrade to miss out. It is the biggest jump the series ever seen IMO.

To each their own I guess.

Re: MLB 11 The Show: Franchise Trade and Off Season Logic Has Been Massively Improved

Enigma...I do agree with you...especially that it can't be overhauled every year nor should it!...but I'm going to play devil's advocate here a bit.
I think most of the guys saying they might just wait for the overhaul....already agree that while '10's franchise didn't need an overhaul, in order for them to move away from the franchises they have invested a lot of time into...they needed some sort of change.
That's an easy move for the guys whose main thrust is playing games....and the franchise is in the background. It's all there for them...new models...new controls...beautiful stadiums...NO BRAINER.
But for a guy who would rather stare at the stat screens and scour the teams for their possible ace that is 4 years away in franchise and try and figure a way to pry him without sacrificing a integral piece in the process...and the game on the field...which is still important and fun is secondary.(not an afterthought....those guys are playing OOTP )
You know what would solve this problem 1-2-3?(but is not easy to do ..)...have us have the ability to move franchise files from one version to the next.
For some franchise nuts...these late additions and changes might be enough to have them give '11 a go. For some...it might not.
                        I respect both.

I'll also be honest on something....which started this back and forth....something I've never understood on boards...the need to post that you won't be picking up the game. Just me maybe...but it's weird. I guess no more strange than guys saying "DAY 1 PURCHASE!!!!1111"...but to me...it's weird.

thanks EN for the complete list of features. That's what I meant. :-)

Just to add to my previous comment playing OOTP11 sometimes. I never felt that MLB10 Franchise was very far behind OOTP who is fully dedicated franchise game. And MLB11 will be even better with the new trade and off season logic added. I just ordered a Blueray repair kit for my first PS3 to now have one for the road. I'm that crazy No more text based game for me !!!

I've asked almost every year (Madden, The Show etc...) and it really never is or seems to be, high on to do list. Mainly due to if the game has a change in player ratings etc... it would just make a lot of work and possibly time away from other things.

So while I'd love the ability to import my franchise like I did back on FPSFB, I also understand it's not and easy addition by any means.

I would still like a print feature
