I agree with you Knight. This is really the only thing missing now from the Show. It has always been lacking in the stats department. Baseball more than any other sport is so stats driven so this is a major component of the game. Though I will still be picking up the Show this year as I do every year, I am looking even more forward to what 2012 will have in store. I think Franchise will likely be the major focus for 2012. I'm sure analog will likely be refined as well since this is their first go at it, i'm sure there will be some issues and improvements that will need to be worked out. The game hasn't even been released yet and one change that CD guys have already mentioned is changing the buttons used to cancel throws. With the complete RTTS overhaul this year, i'm guessing franchise gets the overhaul next year.

I included the print feature on my list....I also bolded it. I asked for STATS-STATS-STATS....a complete stat page instead of the card...WITH career team tracking and the ability to either print stat and roster pages directly from the game OR the ability to dump the page to a file on the XMB for print from there or you PC after transferring the files.
Here's hoping!

Enigma...I do agree with you...especially that it can't be overhauled every year nor should it!...but I'm going to play devil's advocate here a bit.
I think most of the guys saying they might just wait for the overhaul....already agree that while '10's franchise didn't need an overhaul, in order for them to move away from the franchises they have invested a lot of time into...they needed some sort of change.
That's an easy move for the guys whose main thrust is playing games....and the franchise is in the background. It's all there for them...new models...new controls...beautiful stadiums...NO BRAINER.
But for a guy who would rather stare at the stat screens and scour the teams for their possible ace that is 4 years away in franchise and try and figure a way to pry him without sacrificing a integral piece in the process...and the game on the field...which is still important and fun is secondary.(not an afterthought....those guys are playing OOTP)
You know what would solve this problem 1-2-3?(but is not easy to do ..)...have us have the ability to move franchise files from one version to the next.
For some franchise nuts...these late additions and changes might be enough to have them give '11 a go. For some...it might not.
I respect both.
I'll also be honest on something....which started this back and forth....something I've never understood on boards...the need to post that you won't be picking up the game. Just me maybe...but it's weird. I guess no more strange than guys saying "DAY 1 PURCHASE!!!!1111"...but to me...it's weird.

Maybe I am just used to buying baseball games every year since Atari. And the fact that I get so involved with playing every game, I never have time for multiple years. I dunno. Tough nut to crack.
But the continue franchise feature is also super high on the wish-list for me for the community. I may not use it, but if it allows others to enjoy all the new gameplay features without sacrificing their investment in their franchise, then heck yes.
I hope it us considered in the franchise re-boot Kolbe wants to do. Since if it is taken into considering and built around it, it could be very beneficial. RttS as well.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Originally posted by CuseGirlI hear that the Franchise mode's trade/free agency logic has been changed, will these changes be ported to RTTS?
After playing 8 seasons in RTTS and (attribute wise) becoming one of the best players in the game, I had no intention of re-signing with the White Sox (who traded for me from Toronto) and I was waiting for the Phillies/Red Sox/Yankee offer of 18 to 20 million a year and nothing came. So I had to go to Yankee Spring Training.....will that NOT happen again? Thanx in advance....Comment

The Player Vault is a new feature....where users can upload players they've created....of any potential rating and others can download them and import them(by swapping out ANY player) into their roster to start a franchise.
You won't have the ability to import SCEA created players...only generated ones....but you CAN sway OUT SCEA/devs or generated players from the set...making the set any balance you like.
A little work...but I'm sure guys will be doing all sorts of sets.

I know we weren't totally sure yet, but will the players that SCEA adds to the roster updates during the year be able to be put in the vault?Comment

The biggest reason I want to buy 11, though, is the new fielding system and ratings. I loved the Show 10 to death, but the fielding system was definitely broken. Indeed, I have never heard of so many people switching to an automatic function of a game before. The Show can be frustrating at times, but nothing is so disheartening for me than to have the defunct fielding take complete control out of my hands. Not even those meltdown pitching innings where you give up half a dozen doubles in a row. With the new analog system and overhauled ratings, I am stoked enough to give up on my rebuilt offensive powerhouse and go back to being last in every measurable offensive category.Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show: Franchise Trade and Off Season Logic Has Been Massively Improved
Now...in some cases...during the season...they take a gen player and create a new entry into the MLB.....I'm not sure if those guys can go into the Vault.
I also don't know...if...you download an update....you can export an SCEA player to your own XMB and then import him onto another roster WITHOUT using the Vault as the go between.
I didn't think to try that at the event.

I know that Kolbe said that SCEA created players....can't be put into the Vault...I'm guessing they mean their "from scratch" players.

I meant to say HDD(the PS3's hard drive). I'm wondering if we can export an SCEA created player to there from one roster and import him onto another..only on your own machine....since they can't be placed in the Vault.

Re: MLB 11 The Show: Franchise Trade and Off Season Logic Has Been Massively Improved
Well...if you mean during franchise...The Vault will not work with in progress franchises this year. It was causing crashes to existing franchises in progress so just two weeks before we got there...they had to scrap that portion. It's going to be for pre-franchise rosters only for '11.
