I like this a lot too. I'm not sure how it would link to positional changes since currently players have a "set" position, but a lot of guys who get drafted as SS out of high school put on muscle and end up moving to 3B/2B/wherever. Perhaps players could have a numerical/letter/bar rating at each position that would change based on athleticism/playing time, and you could develop players at a new position during the offseason/ST or something.

Great question. Never really thought of this before I read your topic. This would be a great idea, maybe it already exists??

The more I think about it...the more I like this idea.
Like cards said....Imagine having a guy who packs it on...his range and speed become such that he really isn't viable for RF or 1B....so you gotta put him in LF and hope for the best OR trade him to a DH club.
Not all the time(for it to happen)...but once in a while would be very cool IMO.
          Great idea.
          Thanks for suggesting it Gagnon.
(to what end this comes to...I have no idea...but I will mention it)

Like Knight stated, GREAT idea. I also love the idea. Great imagination to add what is already a solid franchise.

I would love to see that young, fast, great contact, right fielder of mine eventually put on 60 or so pounds but still put up a 338 career batting average. Or maybe hit the weight room and turn somewhat thin guys like big Mac, Bonds, or Frank Thomas into the veritable giants they became. How cool would that be?
Well NBA players are human beings too. We all grow as we become older, some don't.

Depends on how young they are.

I grew an inch and a half after my high school graduation.

I don't think Kevin Garnett was a "true" seven footer when he came into the league, either.

Yeah, I definitely would not want to see anything too drastic in terms of height. I'd primarily like to see changes in weight. However, it would not a surprise even if a player like Bryce Harper grows an inch over the next year. Now, 2, 3 or 4 inches. Yes, that's a little silly.
