Re: Opening Day (The Show)
1. (Optional) Set my music up.
2. Exhibition games at the Dome against all manner of opponents, usually the Tigers, Twins, and Rays, working my way up to challenge the BoSox and Yankees.
3. Check out the beautiful stadiums that I like, usually Fenway, Kauffman, Dodger Stadium, Target Field, PETCO, GABP, and Citizen's Bank. The last one will be a game with Doc pitching, and I'll probably watch (CPU vs. CPU) the whole thing.
4. If OS Full Minors rosters aren't out yet, I'll exhibition or start a practice RTTS until they do.Fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Maple LeafsComment

Re: Opening Day (The Show)
Both my wife and I are taking the day off from work to play this pre-ordered game. Most likely we'll check out some of the rosters and see what we like and don't like about some of the ratings and if we want to tinker around with any batting stances or deliveries. Just kill time until Knight's rosters come out.
We'll probably dive into a few user vs. user exhibition games and in doing so check out some of the new commentary and any upgrades to stadium art and new sounds.
Maybe a little bit of batting and pitching practice before hand to figure out the new analog controls. That'd probably be a good idea.
Sim a franchise just to see where teams finish and how well stats add up. See if there are any new additions to the game that were not told prior to buying the game. We can't wait.Comment

Re: Opening Day (The Show)
I will probably go to every stadium and play there for about and inning or so. I like looking at all the ball parks. Then I will go to roster management and look at all the player models. Then I will play with the new analog controls.Comment

Re: Opening Day (The Show)
Wont use the new controls, so wont waste my time there.
Maybe play some exhibition games so I can check out all the stadiums I want to see.
Probably start a season and play some spring training games so as to mess around with sliders a bit.
Just want to get an over all feel for the game, and see how much things have changed (if any) with classic controls.Comment

Re: Opening Day (The Show)
I'm leaving work early on the 8th and have the rest of the week off. I;m planning on playing a couple quick matches and then going through the rosters to see if I need to make some quick changes. I'll be waiting on Knight's rosters and then start my franchise. C'mon March 8th!!!PS3, we had a good run! (7/18/09-10/5/14)Comment

Re: Opening Day (The Show)
It's okay, you can single me out if you want. Doesn't bother me.
I hate analog controls. To this day I hate those sticks. I only use them if/when/because I have to. If a new game ever drops classic controls in the future, that is the day that game is dead to me.
Maybe it is because of my age, and what I grew up with (then again, there are older guys out there that are excited about them). Maybe it's because I am not much of a gamer, and only play sports games (in fact, 2 baseball games, and 2 hockey games since the "08" game season). I leave the rest of the video gaming industry to the kids. Other than the 2 sports I love most (mentioned above) I have not played many video games since I was in my early/mid 20's (in my mid 30's now).
Anyway, analog sucks IMO. Hope you all enjoy them, but I wont be.Last edited by emath; 02-12-2011, 01:27 PM.Comment

Nothing wrong with that. And I never understood why some would care what controls someone else would choose to use.Comment

Re: Opening Day (The Show)
1. Start game.
2. Go straight to rosters.
3. Start editing players accessories/stances/batting orders/rosters.
4. Once I complete editing a few teams I will start playing games.
5. Repeat step 3
6. Repeat step 4Comment
